In a home we rent, we have had rat problems. Although I do not think we still have them, there is a lot of stuff from them in the attic (dead rodents, droppings, who knows what else). We can not get to most of our attic. For the last couple months my family has been feeling aweful. could stuff in the air be getting to us? We have nasue, headaches and stomach aches.

Sounds possible because urine and feces CAN definitely find their way into your air supply in the house. It is EXTREMELY bad for you to live around dead rats. The landlord needs to clean that up for health reasons.

Yes! if there are rats there are probably fleas as well, Those droppings in the attic could be from bats which are a huge health hazard. You do not need to touch the droppings etc, as a lot of the diseases are air born. Please check the link I have added, and get help from your local health department.

Absolutely!! You need to hire someone to properly clean your attic. The e-coli, fungi, and other bacteria from the rodent's droppings and decaying inscent bodies WILL make you sick....or worse.

The urine they are expelling can cause serious respiratory illnesses. Call an exterminator for more info.
