Like you, I got dumped many years ago by a gf who said the exact same thing. in fact, I bet a quick poll of us nice guys would yield a high percentage of us going through that.
But don't give up. I have actually had this conversation with my wife of ten years. Her response is perhaps one many of us can echo.
She says (not ME) that women go through stages. There is the popular crowd, popular boy phase in High School. Then there is the bad boy phase. Tattoos, cigarettes and all that. Then she says they grow up and figure out that the nice guys actually offer everything a women wants. You just have to be patient I think.
And again, her response not mine.

Some girls like a guy to support them. Myself I really don't care if the guy holds me up or I hold him up.
Some think that if a guy is nice they are a. gay or b. just really stupid and are not worth the time
really don't change yourself just because some girls like the guys that are hard core... they aren't always the best, sometimes they may get you into trouble, for the nice guys are always there for you, will try to understand you, respect you no matter the issue and will give you a shoulder to cry on, help you with homework, and they are so much more, just way too much to list. Nice guys they say finish last, but in the long run they don't they grow up to have great families, jobs and a life! And you won't have a million marriages or be in jail for abuse and all that great stuff... I'm not say that all "bad boys" are like this... it is just a compare contrast of the pros and cons.... It is just the way some girls are, and some like the good and some like the bad or in between... I truly don't mind either way... Good luck!

Because most women feel that if a guy can dominate them, they would be more likely, to be able to protect them, they'd fight for them, and that they'd love them more. They just haven't figured out yet that that's not true. If you love someone you take care of them in that way, and nice guys, love a lot more and a lot easier than the tough guys do.

We like being shown how strong you are. We don't want to be hurt but we like to know you are in control and can keep up comfortable and safe. If you can't do that then you're not worth it. It's not so much dominated and comforted by strength and at the same time gentleness of a guy.

I don't know I know personally I was abused for several years but did not leave cause i was scared but id never get in a relationship like that again but some women like that type thing abused or mentally controlled i think its weird but if that's all they have known in past relationships that's what they expect and if they don't get it then they feel insecure now other women like me have experienced it and hated it and would never let myself be treated badly like that again it just depends on the woman i think and her personality do you know what i mean?

It's no fun if there's no challenge...If you know a guy would lick the soles of your feet if you asked him to, there's no challenge.
It's human nature and totally warped, but girls will (almost always) choose the bad guy over the good guy.
It's human nature to want what you can't have.
However...This girl will chase a few B*stards, get hurt a few times, then realise, nice guys are the way forward.
She'll learn :)

You have that wrong....."Too nice" means you are boreing. I am sorry and I dont mean to be a *****. I am just telling you how I use it. That to me means that I would rather be out with a bunch of drunk monks. That means you are smoothering and needy and you need to find someone that needs that not an independant woman. Keep looking. Because they are retarded. Actually, no woman, no matter who she is, like's a pushover. If you she gets everything she wants, it undermines the relationship. It's nice to be treated like **** once in a while. Then the woman can remember the nice things you have done. It's like being taken for granted.

some women desire high-quality adult adult males. some adult adult males like high-quality women. yet there is not any one-length-suits-all element. you are able to not say "All women are like this" or "All boys are like that", through fact there are not absolutes like that. That suggested, there ARE women that like high-quality adult adult males. Myself, as an occasion, have been with the same high-quality guy for years, and we don't play those stupid video games. some human beings like the video games… us not lots. i be conscious of i've got been rambling, however the factor is that there are women which will p.c. an amazing, sturdy guy over a spontaneous pot-head. i think of the challenge is that a super form of the time the high-quality adult adult males and high-quality women are taken, so it variety of feels like the international is crammed with people who merely decide to f*ck around. the reality is that there are in all threat a super form of girls who're what you're searching for and who'd such as you and who you prefer. those products merely demands some endurance now and back.
