About 2 wks age my cat ingested foam craft stamps and vomited for 2 days. Took him to animal ER on 1-19, bld wrk & xray normal. He was "back to normal until this past Friday. He vomited in the am after eating. Fri and Sat nights vomited dark green liquid. Has not eaten since. Yesterday vet gave steroid to increase appetite. Refused food, dry and canned. Drank minimal chicken broth from cooked, pureed breast. Today he ate 1oz baby food (lamb). Refused repeated offering throughout the day. Offered chicken broth--refused. He has urinated 1x each of the last 3 days; no bm's. Going to vet tomorow am. I am unaware if he ingested any foreign objects with this recent occurence.

You need to have another x-ray, possibly a barium series. Foam will not show on x-ray, but the gas pattern and shape of the intestines will reveal if a foreign body is suspected. It may not be the foam at all, but a cat who has already proven to eat wierd things probably did eat something else. Dont let your vet put you off, and if your cat is dehydrated he should be hospitalized for IV fluid and nutritional support, as well as medications to control the vomitng. Do not let them put him on an anti vomiting medication (like Reglan, or metoclopramide) until they are certain there is nothing stuck in him.

usually if they are vomitting this is a good sign they are obstructed....my cat gets constipated about once every 2 months seriously backed up...when he finally lets loose it is something else...well if your cat is obstructed with a foreign object this isnt good ...i hope the vet will be able to diagnose him and keep things put away that are enticing him
