I hope you are feeling better by the time you receive this information. There are several things that can make you sick by eating undercooked pork. It depends on how long it has taken you to become ill after eating that meat. 1.)There is a parasite that enters your body if the pork is raw or under cooked. It is called "Tirchinella spiralis" These worms live in the intestines of most carnivores, including marine animals. The female worm releases larve that enter muscles and form cysts. When the infected muscle is eaten, the cysts develope into the next generation of worms. Humans usually get trichinosis from eating infected raw or undercooked pork or pork products or from eating beef that has been ground in a contaminated grinder or mixed with infected pork. The incidence of infection has greatly decreased by public health measures, but meat from wild animals, especially bear, is one continueing infection. You will need to see your Doctor. He will be able to do a blood test and possibly a muscle biopsy to detect the larva. You will expect to start having symtoms 2 to 12 days after eating infected meat. You may experiance diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and malaise lasting from 1 to 7 days. Although some people may have no symtoms at all. When muscles are invaded by the larve, muscle pain, and tenderness, fever, swelling of the face, weakness, senitivity to light, and conjunctivitis may be present and last about 6 weeks. Please see your Doctor! Except in sevear cases, when it can be fatal, trichinosis is not serious and usually resolves on it's own. In initial stages , a medication may be prescribed. You can prevent that by thoroughly cooking meat or freezing it at 5 degrees fahrenheit for 3 weeks. 2.) Food poisoning is a more likely cause of your illness. As it makes a person feel terrible in a very short time. Food poisoning can cause various ailments, often distinguishable by types of poison consumed. Among them are Gastroenteritus and botulisum. The most common form is gastroenteritus. It is caused by unwashed or improperly handled food of any sort, raw fish, or meats or contaminated water can lead to food poisoning. A good example is potatoe salad left unrefridgerated for too long at a family picnic. If you get sick from eating food that is contaminated,, about 1 to 6 hours after consuming it you can have abdominal cramps and pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. Sometimes water containing stapylococcal bacteria will also affect you this way too. 3.) Botulisum is a potentially fatal food poisoning. It results from ingesting a toxin found most often in canned foods. Botulisum toxin is most often found in home canned foods. The symptoms usually begin 12 to 36 hours after eating contaminated foods. They may include headach, blurred vision, muscle weakness, and eventually paralysis. Some people also have nausea, vomitting, constipation, urinary retention, and reduced salivation. These require immediate medical attention! A person with botulisum needs to be hospitalized. 4.) another cause is Salmonella bacteria. This can also be mild (in infants and the elderly it can be fatal.) It starts from ingesting undercooked poultry, eggs, and meat. Symtoms (which may only last less than a day) usually appear 12 to 48 hours after eating. you will experiance gastrointestinal discomforts and may run a fever. Swine flu is now called the the H1N1 Virus in order to clear any misconceptions about people eating pork. It affects the economy in many different ways and they don't want the public to go nuts over this. And it makes complete sense. However if you are trying to compare religion with science...that is totally absurd. But I think majority of the people do realize that the "terrorists" are extremists and they really do not represent the broader Islamic population. Also, you said "we've had these terms slapped on us for year"...yes because ever since mid 1800 (?) the approach of the fundamentalists Islam has portrayed this peaceful religion to be very strict and intolerant. And thus creates stereotypes. That's basically the society. ALSO: Grela LaTuc Is 100% right. Very scientific answer, I love it.

Well if it was bad pork you would have the runs, stomach cramps and sweatting and fever. And if you have lasted this long hey it will pass soon. SO drink some anti-acids and lots of bread. Bread will soak up the pork.

You probably have the flu. It's that time of year.
Doubt that last week's pork would cause you trouble now.

If it's been a week since you ate the pork, you can't get sick from it. Food poisoning shows up about 4 hours after the offending food is eaten.
