Im only thirteen years old and possibly niave - but to be honest, id like to know if the world is divded inbertween boys and girls, men or women or even people who just care or dont care.

The world has always been divided Jake and always will be. All you can do is what you believe is the best for you, be it right or wrong. If there were never division we'd not have/had so many bl***y wars. Good luck with your cause mate.

I think there is a bit of a divide of people who care and people who don't.

I am all for recycling, only using my car when it is to far to walk, buying energy efficient products etc.

My Husband on the other hand thinks its all ridiculous. His attitude is "if you've got a car then use it." "If the council want to recycle it let them sort it out" " I refuse to wash my rubbish before i put it in the bin"

I tell him he is ignorant. We had an argument the other day about recycling and i told him that when we have gran children and we never get to see them as they live on the moon because our planet is so filthy he would only have himself to blame. (Yes i was being sarcastic and exaggerating to get my point across)

His response was, well if they flew to the moon to live there we would just fly to the moon and have lots of holidays with them.

He has no sense of responsibility about the environment.

Sadly i think there are a lot of people like him both Men and Women old and young.

If we all start to make small changes now to help the environment it will make a big difference over time.

I don't believe that's true, unless you define your question to those who do care and those who don't. I sit in a family where my father ridicules me for believing in global warming, generally I think when the smartest man on Earth, Steven Hawking says global warming is more dangerous than terrorism, we should listen.

But for having that view, as many women as men have said I'm just pandering to the fear the media likes to cause, it's not a gender issue.

In my life I learned that the world is divided in 3 kind of people:

=> people who don't care
[they need to be educated or charged]

=> people who care
[only a few]

=> people who pretend to care
[growing more fastly than the pollution of water, air etc.]

I don't think the difference is between the sexes as much as it is between different cultures and people of different ages. Older people in general are skeptical of any environmental claim. Americans, as a whole (certainly there are many exceptions) are also more environmentally ignorant.

you can believe that if you want to, but personaly, there are many different types of people, not just people who care and people who don't care. Some people care about a lot of different things, while they may not care about other things.
