I don't know where you live but you need to call some vets and explain your situation and see about setting up a payment plan or using a credit card. It sounds like either an infection of some kind or something fractured or broken and in any case it's not good. Get him to a vet.

I'm not sure where you live, but here in LA there is vet treatment for low income families. I would call your local shelter and have them point you in the right direction. Some will even treat your animal for free if you can volunteer at the shelter to help them out a few hours a week.
Your cat needs medical treatment ASAP. There could be any number of things wrong with him and if left untreated the vet may have no choice but to amputate the limb in the future. Your cat is obviously in pain if he's not putting any weight on his paw. If the shelter can't help you, your best option is to call around until you can find a vet willing to work with you on a payment arrangement.
Worst case scenario, you might want to surrender your cat to the shelter so he can get the treatment needed. There's no reason that your cat should have to suffer. You just have to put some time in to researching the options in your area.
Good Luck!

Definately take him to the vet- I know a lot of vets won't let you make payments over a period of time, but some vets work with a credit company so all you have to do is fill out the application at the vet, they call the credit company and if you pass then you get a decent credit line. I had to do that a few weeks ago for my cat. Call a some vets around you and ask if they want full payment at the time of service or if they will take payments over time/extend credit to you.

LOTS of Vets will bill you or allow you to make payments. Call around and make arrangements to have him seen before it is too late. For now, try soaking his paw in Epsom Salts and water (He WILL complain, just be patient -- try wrapping him in a towel with just his head and the injured paw out -- less scratches that way) and then rinse it well.

Take your cat to the vet. Chances are, the paw has an abcessed wound and it can be treated fairly simply at the vet clinic (they have the right equipment). IT WILL NOT COST MUCH at all.. so don't be afraid to take kitty to the vet.

this is probably an infection which is extremely dangerous and deadly. There is nothing DRASTIC you can do at home without risking his life. the infection will be harder to treat as it advances so you need to find some way for him to get veterinary attention as soon as possible. The last option would be to abandon him at a trustworthy vet hospital or shelter where he will be treated. Letting him go would be better than letting him die. home remedies may hold him off

I live in Illinois. Here we have something called Care Credit. Useful let me tell you. You do have to take your cat to the vet ASAP. Your cat could've broken a bone in its leg or something mroe serious. If your vet doesn't have Care Credit, talk to them about monthly payments.

My cat paw was swollen and we soaked it in salt water everynight. You still need to go to the vet.

You have to take him to the vet - it sounds like he might have broken something. Explain your situation and they may be willing to work out a payment plan with you. Check with your local animal shelter, some do veterinary work for cheap. PLEASE take your cat in to get help NOW!!
