I use Dry Vermouth for cocktails, but mixes always call for only a few drops... there is always a lot left over in the bottle. I know my red wine turns to vinegar and tastes terrible after a few days opened. How long does Vermouth last?

And are there any other uses for Vermouth other than martinis or Manhattan type cocktails?

(I know you cannot drink Dry Vermouth straight.)

Vermouth should last a long time (a year, perhaps) as long as it is kept tightly closed. You should keep it in an even temp., cool, and dry spot. Like a cupboard not over the fridge or stove. Vermouth is basically wine and I have known people to drink it on the rocks and with soda water or seven... The only other uses would be in place of cooking wine.

not that open bottles last long in my house but i think vermouth will las a few months once opened.
if you are looking for another use for it try putting 1/2" of it in the bottom of a baking dish with a whole chicken and cover in foil cook as usual except uncover for the last 1/2 hour. tastes great
hope this is of help
