My mom went into the Dr. the other day complaining of stomach cramps. A hospital stay and lots of tests later they found a mass on her pancreas and spots on her liver. Theyre going to get the results of whether it's cancerous or not soon. I pray to God it isn't, you dont know how hard i pray. I didnt ever used to pray, but when shoved face to face with a life threatening illness, you start to. You start to hope, and pray, and wish, and try to make bargins with God. Ill do this or this if you just let her live till old age. Id do anything for her...Anything if it just meant that she would get better. Id take her place if i could.
Everyone takes their parents for granted, including me, and i feel like crap for doing so. I used to get so upset with her for trival things, now it doesn't matter. It should of never mattered, i was just to selfish and to big of a ***** to realize it. I dont want to lose her like this. A mom is supposed to help plan your wedding, help decorate your house, and help name your grandchildren, and make life just a little more difficult in between.
All i can think about now is going home and taking care of my family, not study stupid chemistry! If i could i would withdraw from all my classes and start at henry ford next semester, or wayne state or whereever, it wouldnt matter as long as i was close to home.
Look up Pancreatic cancer and see what you find, and tell me you wouldnt be scared too.
So i guess the point to this note was to ask anyone reading it please put my mother in your thoughts. Say a prayer, make a wish, do anything. I dont care if youre not religious, i wasnt really untill now. Ill do anything for a miracle. Please

Very simply, my best advice is this: just be there.

I lost my mom in 2000 to liver cancer. I remember how scared we all were when we were waiting for her test results, and wondering what would happen next. I remember thinking the same thing - I'd do it for her if I could. And I meant it.

What you need to do now, is just be "in the moment." Stop looking it up on the net, and wait and see what the doctors tell you. Don't look too far ahead, and don't start looking back at what you did or didn't do that you regret. Be in the present moment with her and your family. Hope and pray for the best.

This may or may not be her time to go. If it is, then make a commitment that you will be there for her. If it's not, but she has a battle to face, again make that same commitment. This is the time to focus on her needs and her security.

I'll say a prayer for you, and if you want to talk to someone, you can feel free to e-mail me.

I am so sorry to hear that your mom may have pancreatic cancer. I will pray for you. I know that God can heal her if He chooses. Whatever the outcome, do not blame yourself for not being there and taking her for granted, all children do that I think at one time or another in their life, I know I did, and my kids do as well. About school, that is a hard decision. You are right to want to be the closest you can to your mom now. Remember, your mom is not going to "remember" those times that you seemed to take her for granted, but she will remember you being there for her now. God can use this time to draw you closer to Him and to your mom, if your mom's diagnosis is cancer or not. I will pray that it isnt. However God will see you though. If you need someone to "talk" too you can email me,

If it is pancreatic cancer, understand that it is one of the quickest killing cancers known. I want you to understand this so that you can prepare yourself as best you can. Your mom's illness would have happened whether you were a selfish ***** or not. Right now, just enjoy what little time you will have w/ her. And don't turn your back on God. It's His grace and mercy that is taking her so quickly. It hurts so much more to see them linger and linger. My family and I will be praying for all of you. Affectionately.....Lina.

Dear God in heaven, hear the prayers, the shouts of the soul from this blessed child of Yours. She and her family are in a very difficult time, and I ask for Your blessings, Your peace, Your healing to descend upon them all, especially her mother. If it be Your will, restore her health, make her whole again. Give her and her family the strength and the courage to pull together, to grow in love for one another, and for You. Whatever happens, Lord, let them know that You are with them every step of the way. I ask this in Your Holy Name, amen.

Mary, Mother of God, hear the prayers of this child, hear mine, and pray for us. Pray for us.

My heart goes out to you, and I will certainly pray for your mum.
Your a typical example of how people ignore God until something goes really wrong, and God can use this time to help you come into a right relationship with Him. He loves you and your mam so much that He gave His life for You. Please contact me if you wish to know more about becoming a Christian.

Father God, I come to You and ask that You will heal this lady of cancer. I pray that Your power will be displayed in this lady's life, and that You will heal her completely. We thank You Father God that you cared enough to die for us, and took the punishment on the cross which we deserved, and made it possible for us to have a relationship with You. I pray that You will reveal Yourself to this family, that they will come to know You as their Lord and Saviour. In Jesus Name I ask these things Amen
