I have had painful swollen glands under my neck for 2 days now, yesterday I had a really sore throat, hard to swallow, and sharp shooting pain going down the left side of my neck, today the other side of my throat was sore, and now I'm having sharp shooting under my tongue. My glands are still swollen. Does anyone know what this is?

Can't tell, sir, without taking a gander down your throat and doing a little culture. Could be strep. If you run a fever over 101 F or do not start to improve in two days, see a doc. Take Tylenol for pain. The lymph nodes (glands) are swollen because they are doing their job of filtering and capturing invaders out of your body's fluid systems.

Sounds like you need to see a Dr. Have you looked in your throat to see if it is red and swollen? If you press under the chin and neck and it feels painful or swollen sounds like your tonsils? Best to be checked by a professional.

Good Luck

You might have tonsillitis. Your best bet would be to get to a doctor as soon as possible so that you can get an accurate diagnosis and start taking medication.
