Most muslims i meet come from Pakistan. They tell me how great islam is and how much better life would be for everyone if everyone was muslim. At first i thought it would be worth a try, but when i look at pakistan i realised that it seems pretty horrible, which is why they came here in the first place, therefore negating everything they told me about islam.

Yeah, right. I've been there multiple times. They only do lip service. The men pray 5 times a day, then turn around and exploit their rights. They force women into marriage with them and women are killed for being victims. As far as religion is concerned, I would never consider that to be a good country for it. In most circles, Pakistan is least respected.

I dont think there is any country on this planet that is 'a great example of an Islamic country.' Muslims have seriously got it all wrong, they have hijacked and manipulated Islam to the extremes. If you want true Islam you have to study it, what Muslims do seems to have very little to do with what Islam truly promotes. Islam is about peace, tolerance, equality, truth, compassion, justice, love. How much of that do you see in Pakistan or anywhere else in the Muslim world? In terms of Islam, Pakistan is probably one of the worst examples for practising the true message of Islam but I cannot suggest an alternative utopia either since there is corruption everywhere!

Pakistan = Dictatorship

So... no.

Edit:
What's dictatorship got to do with it?
Well, you obviously never lived in one.
Repression, not being able to speak your mind, the government acting to favour an economic elite and not the general population, torture, favoritism, dissapearances, injustice, corruption, etc.
Maybe people escape from Pakistan not because of Islam but because of the dictatorial government itself, Sherlock.

Look to Turkey or Algeria for "better" examples of islamic countries.

Pakistan is a country ruled by a military dictator.

Islam is a religion.

Pakistan might have a lot of issues, but that's not really a reflection on Islam.

Many African countries are hardcore Christian, but also run by warlord murderers. That doesn't mean Christianity is horrible.

accident? or merely the intolerance of the cult they shop on with. Hatred seen into each passage and that they are too deluded to work out it. undesirable education and ignorant 'clerics' help to renounce awkward questions. Brutal treatment and cruelty meted out to non believers or everybody who questions such strange teachings from God. conceitedness coupled with lack of awareness.....a strange delusion that residing in the dirt, on help and producing young babies you are able to not feed generally with psychological or actual deformities after generations of inbreeding is 'greater advantageous'. Violent delusion.

You're dead right. Pakistan is a medieval hellhole, if you are not one of the rich elite.

Islamic extremism is rife, support for terrorism is huge. Anywhere where there are millions of muslims, and nuclear weapons together, is not a good place to be.

Let me answer you short and sweet, rather than going into details...., they are as great an example of an Islamic country as much as a Tiger can be an example of being a vegetarian. !!

Turkey is a better example. They are so hospitable and friendly. They genuinely want to know about your religion and way of life and don't impose themselves on you.

I don't like people who see each matter from a religious point of view.
