Sounds like George Carlin.. Eggs are usually pkg'ed in harder cardboard "crates".. Chips come in bags.. but chips still taste good broken or not.

Because eggs are packaged to stay seperate from each other. Chips are not. They individual chips will contact each other. So movement was cause collision which will cause breakage.

boxed potato chips stand a better chance as does a tube or a can of them. bags are handled too many times from their being made allowing for alot of crunched chips.

If you only bought your chips by the dozen piece and each one had its own compartment in a Styrofoam tray then I'm sure it could be done.
