Obviously christians will answer No to this question so I guess it's kind of rhetorical. Or maybe it's just a pondering.

The reason i ask is, if you can't sin in heaven is it because God takes away the sinful nature or because God takes away free will?

If it's because the sinful nature is gone then why wouldn't God just remove the sinful nature on earth instead of wiping them out in a flood? Or sending them to hell for eternity?

I'm sure christians don't believe that free will is gone in heaven, but wouldn't that mean that you could still choose to commit sin if you wanted? Of course the cop-out for this is to say that you wouldn't "want" to commit sin in heaven. But that's like saying that every time you sin on earth it's because you "want" to and I don't think anyone would agree with that, christian or not.

Maybe the more logical answer is that there is no God or heaven.
But then again christians throughout history have never been very logical. Oh well :)

If you don't have the ability to choose between right and wrong (free-will) then that would make you a robot right? I thought God didn't want robots and that's why we got free-will?
If you do have free will in heaven then you can choose to do wrong.
So maybe the question should be:
Can you be sent to hell after you are already in heaven?
And if you can then why couldn't you go from hell to heaven?

hypothetically, if there were a heaven, i think that people wouldn't sin because they wouldn't be human anymore. sinning seems to be a strictly human action, and when the soul gets to heaven, i don't see it being capable of lying...HYPOTHETICALLY

I disagree with your premise stated: " I'm sure christians don't believe that free will is gone in heaven, but wouldn't that mean that you could still choose to commit sin if you wanted? Of course the cop-out for this is to say that you wouldn't "want" to commit sin in heaven. I can say that for every sin I committed, I wanted to sin. I have no doubt that I made a conscious choice to commit a wrong, whether it was cursing or theft or what-have-you. If there was no intent and knowledge that the act I performed was wrong, it wouldn't be sin.

One can choose to sin in Heaven. An example is Lucifer and the other fallen angels, who chose to oppose God and were cast out. I would say most wouldn't want to commit sin in Heaven, but I wouldn't exclude the possibility either.

Well, maybe you should ponder a little more open mindness.

Only closed minded unthinking Christians would say that one could not sin in heaven. To say that one would be unable to sin would be to negate the law of free agency (often termed free will on this site). The laws of God are unchanging therefore that would be a contradiction of faith.

Weather one would choose to sin (oh and sin is a result of choice) with the knowlege that one will have attained, and with the temptation of satan removed, well we shall see but in my experience, when one gains knowelge and truth and puts it into practace as wisdom they are able to over come great things. Remove satan from the equation and it will be interesting.

No there will never again be sin in Heaven, because when everything is subjected to Christ death and sin will be destroyed forever, all the Angels in Heaven have already made their eternal commitment to God.

It is possible to sin in heaven. The demons who are part of Satan's group were once angels like him. But they have chosen to side with the Devil. Since this decision and subsequent action was taken while in heaven, it must be possible to sin in heaven. Angels have free will, just as we do. But they are perfect and do not have fleshly weaknesses like us. That is why they have no forgiveness for their sins, as they are intentional and know full well what they do.

I don't think that there would be, because I don't think that you would want to. Not because of lack of free will, but because you're no longer in a body. There's no reason to procreate if you've got no body. There's no hunger or pain, and there by no reason.

If you're really interested in that, there's a guy that's published a few of his visions of heaven, Rick Joyner, he's got 2 books out you could probably pick up at a local bookstore, amazon, or a christian book store.

Heaven is Hell.

Think about it.... being happy all the time. Being confortable all the time. ALL THE TIME

For all eternity everything is the same. You don't have problems, you don't have tasks or objectives to overcome. You don't miss anyone because they are all there. You don't have to make any effort, or struggle of any sort, because all your needs are already fulfilled.

I think that to have all your needs fulfilled for all eternity is truly to be in Hell. To constantly experience happiness would make happiness lose its meaning, since you don't have any suffering to contrast and compare it to.
With no sadness, the concept of happiness becomes moot. Heaven then becomes equal to sleeping for all eternity. There are no challenges, no fulfillment, and no sense of accomplishment whatsoever.

Without black, there's no white. Without pain, there's no happiness. Only a big, eternal void with no changes. Everything remains the same forever.
How awful!

Note that Christians have to believe it is possible to sin in heaven because Lucifer did. He was part of the heavenly host who was sent down to hell for rebelling against god.

If you accept that it is possible, then the question would be - will god forgive heavenly sins? Is it one and done, best of seven, what?

If god won't forgive heavenly sins, why not?

If god will forgive heavenly sins, was some aspect of the trinity killed in some heavenly way and resurrected to serve as the sacrifice for our heavenly sins?

There is no sin in Heaven because the definition of sin is separation from God. And since God will be there, there is no sin. Get it?

Rational sense is not truth, it is the capability to seek for truth. Here on earth is the first step for us to choose to be obedient or disobedient to the One True God. We will attain truth if we are obedient, we will fail if we choose differently. Obedience is to learn and to practice the divine counsels in the Holy Books of His Divine Messengers.
In the spiritual world we no longer need to make choice, but we fully depend on the mercy of God. That is why the responsible choice on earth is so important.
Our parent tells us to go to school; if we choose to disobey him, we cannot go black and blame him for our ignorance.
