21 days once you notice the discharge. If you don't intend on breeding her, get her spayed. Unless you have a yard with 10 foot high walls around it, you are going to be plagued by very amorous male dogs for the next 3 weeks! And this will repeat every 6 months! Good luck! (Most vets will not do a spay while they are in heat, you'll have to wait it out.)
