I tend to think of the soul as pertaining to the self and internal issues. Whereas, a spirit interacts with others.

Just my take on things.

The spirit is a duplicate body within the material body. The soul is the essence that is learning and growing during life - sort of like a seed planted to be nurished and blossom. The soul is eternal. Some say the spirit body will eventually die off.

There's a very important difference.

The word "soul" is taken from the Hebrew word ne'phesh, which refers to the creature itself, not an entity inside the creature. Genesis 2:7 says "Man came to be a living soul." It doesn't say he came to have a living soul. Even animals are spoken of as being souls in the Bible.

The word "spirit" is taken from the Hebrew word ru'ach. This refers to the animating energy inside every breathing thing. This is why it's sometimes refered to as "the breath of life". This is the spark of life, not a sentient creature unto itself. You could liken it to the electricity powering a radio. When you unplug the radio, the electricity powering it doesn't go anywhere, it's just gone.

Hope this helps.

To me a Spirit is you, without a body. A Soul is the perfected you, when Spirit and Body will never part again.

A soul is considered the spirit of an embodied, or formerly embodied, person or animal. Spirit is a more general term, and can refer to any discarnate entity, whether or not ever embodied. So for instance, shamanic religions may refer to forest spirits, for instance.

Denying the existence of these entities is materialist dogma, not science. Many people have replaced blind faith in religion with blind faith in materialism.

The soul is the part of us that contains our emotions and personalities. It is also the conduit though which our bodies are able to interact with the world around us. The spirit is that part of us whom God speaks to and interacts with in order to reveal Himself to us. The spirit is also that part of us who'll stand before God in the day of judgment and either be accepted into heaven or cast into hell depending on what we believe now and do as a result of that belief.

Our soul are the individual's essential self, life, or being

Our Spirit's come alive when we receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour. We are then born again, - but of the Spirit. We become a new creation.

Nothing. They are the same, just that some people don't believe we have spirits, that we just have souls.
