There's dating and there's dating, you know? An 8th grader is 13/14 and an 11th grader is 16/17. That's a big age difference. But when I was in the 9th grade, I dated a senior. (I was 14--he was 17 and then 18. I was 5'9"--it was harder to find boys my own age!) Still, we went on group dates and double dates, but I didn't go out with him alone, and I didn't hang out at his house if no parents were home. "First base" was as far as things ever went.
Looking back, it was a good thing for both of us. He was shy, which was why he was with such a young girl and I had no experience with guys and was very tall and lacked confidence. We had a nice time and nobody got hurt. We're still in touch, more than 30 years later!

i don't see anything wrong with it happening a few years down the road. don't do it now, the 8th grader is too young, and won't be into the same things as the 11th grader, and may end up getting herself in trouble. wait a few years and the age difference won't seem so different.

well since the 8th grader is 13 and the 11th grader is 16, i think that is wrong.. the highest should be 15 or tenth grader.

Way too young. 11th graders are more advanced in the dating area and might pressure the 8th grader.

The eleventh grader's going to be turning 18 soon and that's statutory rape...plus the maturity levels of the 2 are wayyyyyyyy different at those 2 ages...

Age should never matter. but in society today it really does. If the person doesn't care what people think about them, then I say go for it. Normally the girl being younger isn't as bad, because we mature faster. But if in this case it is the boy that is in the 8th grade, then that'd be a little weird. 8th grade boys are pretty immature. But if they get along fine then go for it. Something I always ask myself before I get into a relationship is, "can I see myself kissing this person?" If she or he can't truly see themselves kissing each other than this would be a big NO NO!

It's fine, as long as the 11th grader is smart and responsible.

too young, once the 11th grader turns 18, it's called statutory rape.

NO! I think it is gross, and don't get me wrong I date younger guys, but there is a limit. Untill you get into your late 20s it can be hard to keep a relationship going with a large age difference because both of you are growing & changing & maturing. Before you know it you won't have anything in common anymore but music.
