What is in drinking water?

Question

I know that water is hydrogen and oxygen.. but i want to know what is in it.. In science class we were discussing how there are things in the air and in the water.. a few people in my class decided to look up what was in water and they said that it was really nasty and never told me.. so i was wondering if someone could tell me what's in it that is so sickening. I have tried a few web sites and they really didnt help so someone please help me..

floride, bacteria, fecal coliforms, dirt, iron, other chemicals.

But, they are present in concentrations to low to harm you - even over the long term.
