Global Warming is a farce, created by the liberal, left-wing, nut jobs for political gain. Almost all professional scientists, meteoroligists and researchers agree... climate change exists, but global warming is a farce.

Help! The sky is falling!

The meaning of your question is that global warming is a condition that has been around for many, many years. Our government, which elects a new president every 4 years, sometimes presents us with an attitude that it doesn't matter what we do now - someone else will take care of it later. This isn't true at all. Global warming is serious enough that it should be a focus of any president.

The problem for the United States is that many businesses feel they will suffer if they are forced to cut emissions that contribute to global warming, and the politicians who are on their side (namely, the Republicans and President Bush) won't support any bills or international treaties (like the Kyoto Protocols) that would hurt big businesses' bottom lines. They'll tell you it would be bad for the economy. Yet the economies of several other nations that have ratified the Kyoto Protocols are improving.

Trying to prevent global warming is difficult because it can't be done all at once. There is no magic pill to swallow. It's kind of like a diet for the planet. We don't want to stop eating our fast foods (pumping out greenhouse gasses) and we most certainly don't want to do things that will take years to see results. Unfortunately, that's exactly what we have to do now if we are to have any hope of getting through this century.

As reported at the UNESCO conference few days ago by the scientific panels, global warming IS happening faster than previously foreseen.
Global warming will alter the agriculture. Many more areas will become desert. Tropical forests will be in greater danger.
Tropical storms will occur farther north or south, away from the equator.
Many cities in low grounds will be flooded.
Prevention is already too difficult to achieve.
Not even the countries that signed the Kyoto agreement have done anything, as yet.

it means global warming has existed 4 100 years and has been a problem for all of the governments since then. Its been caused by greenhouse gases rising and trapping ultraviolet rays from the sun, hence the name global warming. Its a problem because we can't stop global warming without cutting down on our use of fossil fuels which cause the greenhouse gases to rise; and thts impossible in 2days day n age coz we need them for electricity and generators. The US also say tht if we cut down on fossil fuel use then lots of ppl will be out of jobs which is why they dnt want 2 cooperate with the worldwide reform operations after the Stern report.

Unfortunately the uneducated(and perhaps unwahsed masses), have no begun to grasp the concept that global warming will NOT neccesarily end up with a warmer earth. It stands a much large chance of just causing our natural weather patterns to go apesh*t. ie: record lows in california and florida, melting of the snow in the swiss alps, raising of the global water level, rapidly developing megahurricanes and megatornadoes, stuff like that.

And in case you haven't cared to look at the data, everything I just mentioned is already occuring, for the first time in recorded human existance.

Still think global warming is a made-up farce? How about YOU provide ME with some verifiable data?

To the original asker, sorry, I was really more responding to the people who answered your question, not you.

It was just a few years ago we were supposed to go through an Ice Age if we didn't change our ways. No one in particular paid much attention to this so now we are gonna go through Global Warming. This is why only the ones who are in for the money or other rewards are the ones spouting the global warming issue. Grants to study Global Warming is high Dollar business. Being the Champion of the Global Warming issue almost got a bumbling idiot into the White House. It's all about power and money.

If you choose to believe that humans have an impact on global warming, then you have to understand that because of the size of the earth, it takes a long time for any noticeable impact on the environment. In contrast, our federal government has the ability to turn over en masse once every four years when there is a Presidential Election. Each administration has different views on how to approach the issue, and thus there is no consistency in application over the long term.

But, it is hubris to believe that humans have an appreciable amount of impact on the weather. It's not as if the glaciers receded in 10, 100 or 1,000 years.

Global worming it's a process that involve pollution. Since the revolution of industry, we polluted very much the atmosphere. That creates a worming effect, and we make the process go faster. - that's why is a 100 years old problem.
There is NO TRYING TO PREVENT GLOBAL WORMING, this phenomenon exist today more then yesterday. We have cars, rockets, industry, cultivation of rice -, almost all human actions have a pollution result.

So, there's nothing to do now, just relax and enjoy.

Industrialization and deforestation have been going on for over 100 years. Some scientists believe the c02 released now take years to remove. Some countries in Europe are creating carbon sinks, better than nothing.

Global warming is real enough, but the Looney Left wants to use it as a political platform.
We are still coming out of the last ice age, just like the earth has done in the past. But the Liberal spin is that it is caused by man, but I still cant get a decent answer as to how warming occured in millenia past, before "Evil Greedy Man", SUV's and Capitalist Factories even existed.
