Because this country was founded on a strong belief in God. Our Founding Fathers loved God and knew that this new country would fail without Him. Our Pledge of Allegience to the flag of our nation states that we are one nation under God. Many people just don't get that and want to remove the reference to God; they already removed prayer from schools, so children from non-religious homes will never have the foggiest idea how to pray even if they want to; they want to remove all references to the Ten Commandments from court houses. Our Constitution is going to dissolve over time and this country will be in wicked chaos. The many references to God on our money should be a daily reminder of what our country was founded upon.

Because our founding fathers built our country on religious freedom, and their faith in God was what motivated them.

By placing His Name on our currency, we keep that memory alive.

In the 1960's we got wise and took character education (Bible stories) out of public schools, and not long after, we took corporal punishment out. Funny, I don't ever remember hearing of a student dying from a spanking.

And then Dr Spock, who wrote the famous book that has warped several generations - could not raise his own family by his words - and it was too late, his book was gospel.

Thanks to the ACLU and other single entities working toward their goal, the Name of God may disappear from 'public' life.

But one day, the Christians WILL disappear - in the twinkling of an eye.

God wants tithes and since most people don't farm or raise animals anymore. He needs something.

Jesus once showed Ceasars image on a coin and said render unto Ceasar what is Ceasars and God what is God's.

That gave God some ideas and he decided to put his name on the money.

Because the people who founded this country were dependent upon God and he was openly and rightfully honored and worshipped in all aspects. If you put God first, then everything else follows as it should.

It's when you put the dollar before God or without God, in your life is when things go bad.

It became the national motto in 1956 (replacing e pluribus unum) because the godless commies were going to take over the world unless we put it on our money and in the pledge of allegiance.

At one time in this country there was a strong belief in God. The framers wished to reference Him in all things, especially in commerce. This in the hopes it would remind folks to treat each other fairly.

Because the religious nut jobs thought it would be a good idea in 1956 to violate the establishment clause of the first amendment of the constitution by placing a blatant endorsement of religion on our currency.

If the name "God" offends you, just collect all those nasty bits of green paper and/or metal with His Name on it, put it in a box and send it to a P.O. Box I will give you. Then, you won't have that Name in your face every day. Since God's Name doesn't offend me in the least, I won't mind at all disposing of it for you.

Because the Christians have deluded themselves into believing that the US was founded by a bunch of Christians so that it could be a Christian country and they want their stuff on everything.
