Thank you for your question! There are too many people who go to church/pray and then live very un-Godly lives. The hypocrisy is staggering, isn't it.

I am sure that the lessons behind christianity are far more important. Remember Christ came to this earth only 2000 years ago and I am sure there were many good people before that time that were not Christians that are in heaven. I believe any religion that practices being kind and charitable to others and all of those other golden rule type behaviours will belong in a special sphere apart from evil, darkness, hate and pain.

Lets clarify a few things. Since sin, mankind is less than perfect. Perfection is YHVH's standard. YHVH sent the Savior YAHOSHUA so that by receiving Him man could receive the perfection needed to live in a perfect world. If a person chooses not to receive this gift, then he cannot live in the perfect world, and therefore, when the Almighty cleanses this world with fire, and burns up all sin (prior to making this world new, and perfect) then those people attached to their sins will be burned up with the sins they refuse to give up. How could the Almighty be more generous???? If the psycho killer then received the Savior to bear his sins, then he would go to heaven, There is none "good" but the Almighty, and so yes, without YAHOSHUA he does not make the cut, and goes to hell.

both will be there together; for innocent blood does not wash off. And our Saviour says all blasphemy and sin is forgiveable, except sins against the Holy Spirit.
In your example; if the killer finds Christ; then he has a chance of being forgiven... but he will still suffer on earth; for his time will be served out in whatever punishment he earned. But if the atheist is good all his life, but curses the Holy Spirit; he will not be forgiven, according to our Saviour.
Both have an equal chance of forgiveness depending upon the level of their transgression; but beyond a certain point, both could suffer equally.
You have to remember though; that at the time of the Great Flood, their were many whom were considered "good" by man's standards. But as you can see in todays world; with the acceptance of divorce and homosexuality, that man's judgement of good and evil is no where near par with God's.
I like to ask people in such case; are the consequences worth it?

The psycho killer christian would still go to hell and the good atheist would still go to hell. just because ur a christian dont mean you instantly go to heaven, you have to be faithful.
and the good atheist still goes to hell cuz he never accepted jesus as his savior. If you were a great person all your life , it dont mean you go to heaven, you gots ta reach christ.
and why would this question be hard? because i myself am a christian just not faithful.

I certainly hope that if there is a god he gathers all the psychos - killers, Christians, Muslims, etc. - in one place. Put a "Heaven" sign up and they won't know the difference.
We atheists and other free thinkers will party hearty in the bar.

Psycho killer SAYS he's a Christian...
Atheist SAYS he's "good"....
Hmmm...
By what standards is the killer a Christian?
By what standards is the Atheist good?
Gods standard? Then both are liars.

That is, I'm afraid, what most religions believe. Which is one of the many reasons why I do not believe in Heaven or Hell! If that is the case, Hitler is in heaven.

There is no god. There is no heaven. There is no hell. Instead of building churches, we should be building hospitals. Instead of hands praying, we should have hands helping. Our "great Christian nation" needs to learn to turn the other cheak instead of bombing the *hell* out of other countries. Two wrongs do not make a right, and calling yourself a Christian country does not make you good.

I think religion is just the way of better living. It is not there to ban you from some which is good for you. It you look deep in to the religion's rules you will find that they are there just for you to have a better life.
