Well, it's apparent that none of you can take a question like this head on without any extraneous details. It goes to show that when it comes to putting yourself in the place of the victim, you can't come to admit that these illegal immigrants are wrong for sneaking into this country. I would be more concerned if an American stole my identity. American's who steal identities have a tendency to economically destroy lives by running debts in to the hundreds of thousands.

Not dancing around it, I would be pissed and I would do everything in my power to get the ****** deported if I come out losing a single dollar. If my credit goes down a single point, his *** becomes mine. If I lose nothing, then I would just laugh it off.

If it was an American, I would cry like a girl so they sentence his *** to life in prison. No need for double standards.

I doubt any illegal would take my job any time soon, but if he does, I would hope that it is because he can do it better and not because he is cheaper.

People get laid off from there jobs everyday. Its a fact of life! Generally speaking migrant workers tend to do the low paying jobs that nobody else wants. Jobs like beng a janitor or picking fruit and vegatables. If you work hard and go to college you won't BE in the position that your laid from your job because some one will do it for a different pay.

I know how I would feel if I were to lose my job....that is why I am fighting this. Well that and others...

I do not have to worry about an illegal taking my job. It would absolutely not happen.

But, the guys on the floor....(I work in manufacturing)...they could be replaced. The place I work at wouldn't do it...but, some other companies would.

Illegals put my brother's construction business under. He wouldn't lower his wages nor would he hire illegals....so the other contractors did..under bid and now he has to work for someone else. So much for HIS American dream, huh.

I could go one about the accidents with uninsured illegals driving around town....but you all already know that.

See....I DO love my fellow Americans..and while illegal immigration doesn't affect me personally....it DOES affect those that I care deeply about...OTHER AMERICANS.

I can say that it doesn't affect me personally....I have a secure job, I have my own health insurance for my family, my son goes to a private school, and blah blah blah....

If an illegal got ahold of your social security number and personal info, applied for credit cards in your name, ran up a debt in your name.
Then didnt pay the bills, giving you a poor credit score, you now cant qualify for a home loan or a decent rate car loan.
They are using your SSI number claiming a bunch of dependants and now you go to file your taxes the next year and find out you now owe a bunch of money.
You have no idea how much of a nightmare this could be.

Now how good would it feel that authorities cant track down this person, have no way of getting money back, it will take years to fix it and the person ran off back to their home country and isnt even prosecutable.

Yes legals steal your identity too.. but you can do something about them. illegals are undocumented. try and sue them you cant.

No, I have a very good paying job. I don't have to worry about working in the field or hard, manual labor. I think what Steph is saying is that you should get a higher education and then you won't have to worry about this. You're an American like me, go to school-chase your dream. How are we dancing around the point? Noone likes to get laid off-but it happens. And for contractual labor with companies. This is the way the cookie crumbles.
