Is it really necessary to use a shampoo and conditioner specifically for color treated hair if you have dyed hair? I have fine hair to begin with, and the products I'm using are making my hair very flat. Any thoughts?

No it is not necessary unless you are a red head. Hair colored red is extremely vulnerable to oxidation.

Try Redken's formula for color treated hair. (red bottle) I have very straight hair with highlights and this shampoo leaves my hair w/ decent volume. (www.redken.com)

It's probably making your hair flat because shampoos for color treated hair usually have more conditioners in it. I have fine hair too and it is also color treated. I try to use shampoos that are clear in color because creamier shampoos have more conditioners in them that will weigh down fine hair.

good day:):):):( Use extremely gentle shampoos and be gentle which includes your hair in each way. attempt now to not wash your hair wide-spread both and don’t stay less than the daylight for lengthy, that makes hair colour very last a lot less. Sulfate loose shampoos are the finest because those help the hair colour to stay in for longer and they save hair gentle and healthful searching. i take advantage of the pro organic’s argan oil shampoo and conditioner, plus i take advantage of the oil itself for after a bath because my hair receives brittle actual and that i dye it once in a lengthy time period’’. i love it:):):):)

I used to rinse my hair with apple cider vinegar. Made it shiny, strong and silky. Washed it with shampoo for colortreated hair, but without a conditioner my hair tended to be frizzy.
