Chicken soup.

Use canned or cartoned broth, chopped pre-cooked or canned chicken chunks and veggies (celery, carrots, or any veggies you have on hand). It's simple, just boil the broth and add veggies first, cook until tender, add the pre-cooked chicken then the noodles. When the noodles are done, it's done. Make sure you taste along the way for seasoning. You can add salt, pepper and chicken seasoning and rosemary. If you make this you'll get credit for a HOME MADE soup even if you used these simple ingredients.

Your momma will feel better too as Chicken Soup is a natural cold helper!! Good Luck and I hope your MOM feels better soon.

My favorite site for recipe ideas is www.allrecipes.com. Great ideas along with valuable critiques and reviews of the recipes.

It would help to know how your Mom is sick. If she's got a sore throat, cold or flu, soup is great and soothing. Sometimes dishes that are "reeeaaally good" may be way too rich for someone that has intestinal ailments.

sure, how about meatloaf with a baked potato and some kind of veggie. for meat loaf take about 2 lbs of thawed hamburger
1 cup of oatmeal flakes or breadcrumbs or soda crackers. what ever you have around add 2 eggs about a 1/2 cup of ketchup, a good squeeze of the mustard bottle some Italian seasoning if you have it mix all together put in bread loaf baking pan lined with foil (for easy clean up) bake at 375 for about 1 hour. if you like cheese put some Cheddar on top about 15 min prior to taking out of the oven or you can mix it up in the wet ingredients before you even bake it. This makes a great sandwich for the next day if there are any leftovers.

2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
2 cups water
3 carrots, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 pinch ground black pepper
3 slices fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup chopped cooked chicken breast meat
1/2 cup egg noodles

In a large pot over medium heat combine the broth, water, carrots, celery and ground black pepper and allow to cook. In a medium skillet over medium high heat, combine the ginger, oil and chicken. Saute for about 5 minutes and remove the sliced ginger.
Add the chicken to the broth mixture, bring to a boil and then add the egg noodles. Continue to cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes until noodles and vegetables are tender.

It would help to know how old you are, but I will assume you are a teenager. Try some grilled chicken breast (in a frying pan) with a veggie of your choice ( i suggest asparagus) is a light meal that will cook fast and easily. A glass of OJ and she will smile..

Hmm.. specify what type of sick she is, for all we know, it could be anywhere from a sore throat to cancer. But hey, soups and cold desserts like jello are allways winners! Look for some online soup recipies.
