Keep yourself busy. Shoot some hoops, work overtime, invent something. Whatever keeps you from having intercourse.

Two things will solve the overpopulation problem. 1.) Starvation, famine, and then war as we fight for scarce resources on an overly populated planet. This theory has already been proved by rats in a lab - they were peaceful until overpopulation and then turned on each other. 2.) Pandemic disease - as the population increases so does human contact allowing new strains of disease to kill countless millions (perhaps even billions) until all that remain are those unexposed or immune. Mankind by itself does not have the will to take the necessary steps to limit its population but the laws of nature will.

We could do what China does, but that would open a whole can of worms. They give breaks to families with one child, but then penalize families with more than one. What happens is that the parents get an ultrasound to determine what sex the fetus is. Some get an abortion if its a girl.
Or we could try to squeeze as much food and resources as we can out of Mother Earth. That just kind of blurs the question by saying "look at how many people we can sustain."
I think the easiest answer is probably what that other guy said: War.
I remember learning in a statistics class long ago that models of population growth in wild animals were usually steady. The existing population would reach a sort of equilibrium with predators/prey etc. When the population growth looked like ours (like a graph of an exponential function that starts out slow and then shoots straight up) that eventually some outside factor caused the animals population to crash and burn. Thats what may end up happening to us.

Nature has a way of fixing things most of the time, if we don't ease our own overpopulation problem, disease and war have a pretty good way of doing it for us. It seems like the more tightly packed we become, the less tolerant we are of each other and the easier disease spreads.
Not the nicest thing to think about, but its the truth.

Since man/woman have never gotton over taking that first apple, we cannot control our urges. The earth is 4 1/2 billion years old and has been through many reinventions and many self- purifications. When we damage our host to the point that it rejects us, it will start over again, probably with something in the bug population.

Encourage homosexuality. Promote free birthcontrol world wide.
Out law influences/beleifs that discourage birth control. Sterilize all people in mid to lower incomes so that republicans have no one to trickle down thier wealth to. there by making the economy stagnant, causeing people to blame other people in other countries and give rise to world war three.
