Non--alcoholic wine (like the brand Ariel or Sutter Home Fre found in grocery store), beef or chicken broth or stock, diluted red wine vinegar, red grape juice diluted with red wine vinegar or rice vinegar, tomato juice, liquid from canned mushrooms, plain water.

Just to be clear - alcohol DOES NOT always evaporate off. In fact, it frequently doesn't.
Geez, the wine is FAR healthier than the meat, so I'd be inclined to remove the meat from the recipe and just have the wine!
Anyway, it depends in what aspect the wine is used in. If it's just for flavour, you can try a balsamic vinegar - but be VERY careful not to use too much. If it's in a sauce, then look for a different sauce that you think might work.

Oh particular I even have quite a few circumstances fixed a roast in purple wine in certainty in basic terms a week in the past I did.Any purple wine is excellent and that's particularly tasty.The wine tenderizes the roast nicely whilst cooking.I take a knife and placed some slits interior the beef then pour the wine in those slits so the wine is going greater into the roast whilst cooking.You wont remorseful approximately cooking a roast in purple wine thats for particular.You cant particularly flavor the wine because it soaks up interior the roast.Dont pour alot of wine over the roast tho basically til approximately an inch or 2 is in backside of pan is all.Then whilst the roast is cooking I baste with the wine and in case you dont have a baster use a huge spoon and basically spoon the juice from the roast over the beef.I do this a minimum of two or three times whilst cooking.happy Cooking

Red wine vinegar does NOT add the same flavor as red wine...it's vinegar and will add vinegar flavor.
When cooking with wine, any instance short of tossing in a splash or cup as you serve it will cook away the alcohol. However, if you want to be safe, you can get alcohol free wine ad cook with that. You will find it in the wine section of the grocery/liquor store...and if you don't find it, you can always ask somebody at the store. A popular brand is "Fré" http://www.frewine.com/

When you cook, the alcohol evaporates. If you have young children, or someone with gout, etc. cooking with red wine is ok, as dishes cooked thoroughly and flavored with red wine actually contain no booze. The only way there still would be booze is if you have to make the sauce separately and it is never actually cooked with the meat. In that case, use a little grape jelley and red wine vinegar to taste.

cheri-alcohol in any wine (or liquor) evaporates during the cooking process, so you wont get drunk or tipsey from it. all you end up with is delicious flavor, so use a wine you would drink( a good one) generally cost $10.00 or less for a real good . wine. if you have a problem with alcohol, and im not saying you do, you can use a red cooking wine f ound in the supermarket by the vinegar, but the flavor isnt the same as the real thing. definetly dont try the non alcoholic wine... the flavor isnt the only thing missing. good luck!

Red wine vinegar has the same flavor and acidic bite to it with no alcohol. Can be found in any grocery store.

You can also use tomatoes to tenderize the meat also. Did you know that when you cook with alcohol, that after it is cooked all alcohol content has been evaporated from the source.
