Would a religious person call it a sin for one to have a mind of his own?

By the way... Jesus didnt give me life, neither did God... it was my Mother.

That's a very good question actually. Another one to think about: if the devil is supposed to be evil and hate god, then why would he punish the people that end up in hell? You'd think he'd be proud of all the sinners.

the fact is that man made god and only man would impose such a harsh punishment. An all-loving perfect god would recognize that this life is too short a time to carry so much weight as an eternity of hellfire just because a person didn't "happen" to chose the right religion, or think the same way. The thought that a god would is a total insult.
And all these people who say god doesn't send anyone to hell that we do it ourselves are absolute brainwashed fools. No person would send them self to hell -
I find it both fascinating and pathetic that people can explain-away anything and insulate their god from any responsibility.

God doesn't send people to hell for having their own opinions. He send them to hell for sinning. Ignorance of the law doesn't make you exempt from being punished by it. If a man came to our country and killed someone and then said well, I didn't know I couldn't do that. Do you think they would say okay, you are free than, or punish him? Does his ignorance make him exempt? No, it doesn't. Breaking the law means you will be punished. Breaking Gods law means the same exact thing.

Remember this. Nomatter what spin you try to put on the Bible to suit your own desires, it won't make you exempt on Judgement day from the Truth! If you don't have the blood of Jesus to cover your sins, than you will be punished. If you don't agree with punishment, than I guess we should let all the rapists and murders go that don't think they did anything wrong. Right?

I know most Christians will not agree with me, but the idea of a fiery torture pit where people will suffer for eternity for their "sins" was never God's idea. God does not need or want that kind of gory "revenge". That kind of "hell" is strictly a human invention...and not very nice humans, at that.
I am a Christian, I believe Jesus paid the debt for sin...He is not twisting in the flames somewhere, is He? He tasted death on the cross once for all...the wages of sin is DEATH...not life in an eternal bar-b-que pit. The GIFT OF GOD is ETERNAL: LIFE...in other words, NOBODY gets to live forever, anywhere at all, unless God gives them that gift, which Jesus purchased for us all with His blood.
This is what I believe....

This is a false question. God does not send people to hell for having their own opinion. Were did you get this from? Religious people have a mind of their own it is not a sin. God does not send people to hell, people choose not to be with God. So they will live were God presence is not.

If you have the opinion that gravity doesn't have a hold on you, and you jump out of a 30 story building to prove it, does the building send you to the ground because of your opinion?

Or could it be that ignoring the law has consequences, no matter what your opinion is? God has laws. Whatever your opinion is, makes no difference at all, it doesn't change the immutable law. The salary of sin is death. What you deserve, and I deserve as sinners is death. Jesus came to fulfill the law, and died for our sins, so that we don't have to. Jesus offers us eternal life, abundant life. He offers to pay the price of the law for you.

God doesn't send anyone to hell. He merely allows us to choose if we want to spend eternity with Him in Heaven by accepting the payment of our sins, or if we want to take the chance that our opinion is of more value than the law, and try to jump out of a window.

I don't know about you, but I choose to believe God's law. I don't much care for heights and long falls.

Lets clarify a few things. Since sin, mankind is less than perfect. Perfection is YHVH's standard. YHVH sent the Savior YAHOSHUA so that by receiving Him man could receive the perfection needed to live in a perfect world. If a person chooses not to receive this gift, then he cannot live in the perfect world, and therefore, when the Almighty cleanses this world with fire, and burns up all sin (prior to making this world new, and perfect) then those people attached to their sins will be burned up with the sins they refuse to give up. How could the Almighty be more generous????

sigh.

We only go to hell because we didn't accept the gift God freely gave through Jesus: salvation. It's called ignorance, not opinion.

We all sinned; we all need Jesus.

Free will is a given. I have common sense as well as faith.

For example:

I know that Jesus is the savior of me and my life.

I also know that the Pope is a hypocritical man that only desires power and wealth.

men can corrupt religion, but they can't corrupt God, who is the Word.

Its not evil to have opinions. God does not send people to hell. God has done everything he can to prevent this. Hell is the natural consequence of not being able to be in the presence of God.

Your own opinion is no sin, unless it opposes God.
See, God is not some committee, or some thing that changes with the ebb and flow of time and fashion.
God simply IS. He stated what is good and right, and that has not changed.
If your opinion differs from it, then it differs from what is good and right...and you risk going to Hell for it.

In the end, God chooses where you go...I have nothing to do with it.
