These days you can learn how to speak Spanish over the internet. Check out this online course, it's voted as the best Spanish online course of all time: http://www.rocketlearner.com/spanish The course is very easy to follow, I was able to learn Spanish in just 3 months.

I live in New York City, I wanted to go to a Spanish language teacher but that would have cost me over $800 per month. Good thing with this internet, $800 it's a lot of money for me.

well, my native language is Spanish. and somehow i got this languages Gift, that allows me to learn languages faster than other people and just by teaching myself. i learned English by practicing and making my vocabulary grow. yes, grammar part is important too, but if you don't practice and if you're not able to hold a conversation, you couldn't speak a language. i would pleasantly teach you Spanish. send me a message through Yahoo! and I'll let you know my messenger.
good luck!

Get a CD/Mp3 version if you can, or anything that has spanish speaking on it and listen to it as you fall asleep. Your subconcious mind picks it up fast, and passes this onto your waking self apparantly. It should also help with your pronounciation as well.

When I learn a new language I try to write and read short stories, and when I read them I read aloud. It works for me. And don't bother about the short stories having to make any sense, just make it up as you write, and try to use all the words you know and don't know.
