But if someone on the other side (Mexico) shot one of our border patrol agents it would be a big deal huh?Oh my goodness there would be riots like you wouldn't believe. I do not and I repeat do not beleive in shooting anyone who is coming over here illegally. I'm for amnesty as long as they are not hard core criminals like child molesters or murderers. If they are hard core criminals they should be deported. We can't even go around shooting molesters or rapist, so what makes you think it is ok to shoot someone coming here illegally?

yes sadly there is a lot of shoot the illegals around here ... i wonder if they would think the same way if they were in need ... no its not ok and nobody should justify anyone shooting an unarmed person ... to me it is one of the most cowards acts anyone could do and does not have any justification .... i will post a link about a question in which u can see an example of a person who believes shooting an unarmed person should be rewarded with a medal ... sounds pretty sick to me .

mmmmm no need for the link u can see the very same thing i am talking about down there , i will post the answer which i gave to that question here about the USA border patrol agents since that person got that question erased so nobody could see my answer :

................................................................................

i really hope u want the true because that is what i will give u :

i did a reseach about what u are talking about and found out that the two USA border agents did violate the law u like it or not . they shoot an unarmed man 15 times who posed not tread to them and was runing away from them , they lie about what happened , cover up the shotting , conspired to destroy evidence and then wrote a false report and filed it .

i also also would like to mention that in the original report they did filed they did NOT mention the confrontation with davila because they knew they were BREAKING the law .
http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/txw/press_releases/2007/compean_ramos_suttonstatement_1_17_07.pdf

about the goverment giving inmunity to davila , yes they did gave him inmunity because first at all they did not identify him , they did not get his finger prints , they could not tie him to the ban and after shooting him they did not attemp to aphrehend him when he was on the ground .

i also would like to mention that border patrol agent juarez who witnesses what happended admited that he did not draw his weapon because he thought he was not a tread and that he did know davila did not had a weapon and that he was almost in Mexico when the shotting began .

it is imporant to mention that davila did not had made any other attemps in the past to smugle any drugs into the USA .

and last NO HE WAS NOT GIVEN A GREEN CARD as u can read at the last part of page 3 of this report :
http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/txw/press_releases/2007/Compean_Ramos_factsheet1.pdf

have fun reading there is a lot to read in there ......
( the last part was for the person who made that question originally )

I don't know if I'd say that everybody should be granted amnesty... however, I guess everybody has their own reasons for looking to immigrate to the United States. But think of this, why are we focusing ONLY on Mexico? Mexico is NOT the only country that has illegal immigrants to the United States. In fact, AT LEAST half of the immigrants in the US entered legally... they just overstayed their visas.
However, the truth is that a lot of illegal immigrants do live decent lives while in the US. People complain about "we have to support their kids" Au contraire, mon frere, I have an aunt who is a nanny there... she has no children of her own, but SHE is the one taking care of American children! She has a tax ID (since she can't get a SSN) and she pays her taxes... Where's the burden there? She's doing the job that a lot of Americans would shun because there are relatively few benefits, and a lack of upward movement. So I don't see how she'd be stealing from tax-paying Americans. And yes, she has her own apartment (and she lives alone) so she is not causing a potential fire hazard through overcrowding.
I am West Indian (Not living in the US, but I was a student there for 4 years to do my undergrad) and I have another aunt who owns a travel agency, and she pays her taxes (like DUH, she owns a business).
Anyway, the thing is that being an illegal immigrant does NOT equate to being a bum. Don't think that all the people in the US illegally are lazy and will contribute to delinquency and make the burden on the welfare system even heavier. Gee sometimes they do even more that Americans themselves will do, just because they have fewer opportunities open to them, and they have to work with the few opportunities that do arise.
Just to end it all, I am not saying that I condone illegal immigration. I was in the US for 4 years, and I was there legally, and I would encourage anyone else to do stuff the legal way. However, we should not be so quick to judge and generalize and say that illegal immigrants just weigh the system down.

While researching for an answer to your question, I discovered some censorship going on. There is an article that states that the border patrol and the National guard is fired upon at least every ten hours by people from the Mexican side of the border. All the links I found to it are broken. If anyone has this info I'd appreciate a working link.

I was on your side until I read the border patrol example. The border patrol officers are not going on someone else's country illegally. If they are shot while performing their lawful duties in defense of our country, you had better believe it is a big deal.

Obviously, we shouldn't shoot people just because they come illegally. I think that if the people who say that who are actually of jury serving age were on a jury where it turned on that issue, they wouldn't hold out for that position, either. Frustration speaks loudly here, I think.

PS. It would be perfectly fine with me if the government shot child molesters.

If our BP agents were crossing their border to steal from their citizens then they have the right to protect their country. The shooting of our people in other countries should be handled by the country in questions laws. As for the illegals coming here there are better ways to stop them than shooting them but shooting may work also.

What are you talking about? The Mexican police and army have shot at our servicemen and border patrol agents and it gets covered up. I have been following the immigration debate on this site and not seen very many people saying that it is okay to shoot illegal immigrants. Why is this question so stupid? Why did I bother to answer such a stupid question? We may never know.

First of all, they do shoot our illegal aliens over on the other side of the border. They know that our illegals are mostly criminals, because why else would they be going across the border?

Second, the reason we don't shoot is because of a UN sanctions and by laws that say NO.

Third, maybe you should do some research on how Mexico treats our LEGAL immigrants over there. They have absolutely NO rights. They can't demand specific wages; they can be discriminated against; they can't work as clergy or for the government, even as contractors...

I am against amnesty because people should pay for the right to become citizens. My grandparents paid to come into this country, and I don't see why we should let anyone have a free ride.

I understand how you feel. People get heated in these arguments and say distasteful things. I doubt if any of them have actually shot anyone, let alone stand at the border and shoot people. However, there's no way to tell by looking at someone running acrossed the border if they are the half that are going to assimilate and play nice or they are the half that are going to go on to committ other crimes. Since they have no legal right to be here, it is best to just keep them out. THEY DO have a higher crime rate than we do and have a lot of wrong ideas about us and what they are allowed to do and say here. So think...how will you keep that child molestor or murderer out? By keeping them all out. As to shooting, there are other ways and when pressed most agree with using other methods.

Two of our border agents Shot a DRUG smuggler found to be carrying 750lbs of Dope. The drug smuggler got Amnesty our border guards are currently in prison. Maybe if we shot more of them and didn't send our agents to prison for doing there jobs we wouldn't have so many criminals entering our country on a daily basis. Illegals Simply LOVE bleeding hearts like you who wanna give them every little thing thats another reason why they don't learn english. To many people kissing there Rears when we should be KICKING them instead.

it would be funny to have our history reversed so that native americans would have killed europeans coming to America.... oh so now everyone thinks....... who gives you the right to kill anyone? this is a free land, and when europeans came, they also came without welcome as native americans were killed in their own territory... it would be worse to see illegal aliens coming in... and not only that, but killing americans, and doing whatever they want

see the movie, the day after tomorrow... you are not alone in this world.. you need help from other countries at one time or another
