Is $2500 a good deal on a 1971 Ford LTD 4 door, it has a rebuilt 429 2 barrel V8 (which came from the factory), C6 transmission, air conditioning (still blows cold), runs/drives great, little rust on the usual areas, body/interior is in very good shape.

That's an excellent car, but try to get the seller down a little on price. From what you're saying of the car, I would only be concerned about the transmission. You might want to take a transmission fluid sample to a lab for analysis.

I think that it's a good deal and I bet you that the car would move with the 429 under the hood, the Ford 429 motors are one of my favorite motors of all time and the Ford LTD's were really good cars back in the day and that was back when Ford made good cars.

I would always try to bargain for a lower price. But the truth is a rebuilt 429 with a C6 transmission. If both the motor and tranny are good it's well worth the asking price.

First of all the vehicle is a pretty good deal because you can sell that 429 to most anyone with any knowledge of motors, that motor is scarce an valuable to racing circles. Second offer 2000 cash just because you can save the 500 bucks.

Well, seeing how a new Ford costs upwards of 20,000.00, I think that's a great buy, especially if it runs the way you say.
So 2500.00 cash one time or payments of 300.00 or so for 6 years. Not to mention Insurance costs. You decide.

You sold me. I'd offer $2000 and see if the seller wants to deal. But make sure you have the cash on hand for what you are offering just in case they bite.

it's fair if you are looking for a car to drive around fairly reliably, but don't expect to sell it for more later it will not apreciate in value
