At the time Europeans arrived in Australia, there were about 250 different languages across the country with, perhaps, 1000 dialects of those. If we look at a smaller area with many languages such as Europe, you would agree, I think, that there is no definable "European" culture. Norwegians are different from Greeks who are different from Russians who are different from Welsh. Similarly across Australia there are many different cultures to go with the many different languages. There is no such thing as "Aboriginal" culture any more than there is "European" culture.

There is a huge amount of material in libraries and on the internet. Two areas you might like to consider are languages, in which case look up R M W Dixon, and religion, in which case look up Tony Swain.
