I am converting old family VHS and with the Auto tune on some in leaves a black gap on the left, I would need to re ajust the picture. Also I need to Cut adverts and split the video in to sections, is there any software out there that can do this?

Why don't you use the Movie Maker Software which comes free with Windows? That should be good enough. If not there is a free advanced Video Editing Software I can recommend but it will need some time to learn how it works. http://www.jahshaka.org

Hmm try adobe, it has some video software which is supposed to be pretty good for the price.

if you have windows don't you have Windows Movie Maker
