Absolutely. With fresh foods like meat and poultry it is imperative you check the expiration date because it will only stay fresh for a certain amount of time. Canned goods and such have a longer expiration date, but I still check them because I might buy them and then not use them for a while.

Always! I also dig in the back to find fresher dates. Wish I could memorize that colored bread tie thingy that tell which color goes with which day of the week the bread was delivered because not all bread has a date...but, that's just bread. I check everything. Too bad we can't check the inside of a head of lettuce to see if it's brown, yuk.

I only verify perishables (eggs, milk, bread, etc.) in spite of the undeniable fact that that's quite stable to envision each and every thing such as you do, I only don't have the time. I as quickly as offered a container of angel nutrition cake as quickly as that grew to become into over a million year expired,.

Yes, because I have found 1-2 year old cereal boxes and outdated milk before. Yuck.

yes, but I only buy bread in a see through bag now, cos I got some and opened it and it was really mouldy (of course I had thrown away the receipt by then...)
I will eat vegetables after their sell by date cos I don't think they can kill me, but would never eat meat after it.

I watch the dates on meat, because it tends to spoil shortly after.
