I want to know if it's safe to bleach on already colored hair, what kind of bleach (what % or soemthing), how i should take care of it?

Don't use bleach again, go with LIGHT ASH BLONDE hair colour....because ash blonde kill the yellow and orange .It's work for me...you can get nice blonde ..If your orange tones are to strong then repeat coloring after one week....believe me , you gonna be happy without bleaching again.....

I really don't understand you people you come in here saying will this work or I did this and I dont know why it totally screwed my hair up.... If it isn't made to use on your hair or a natural product don't use it. I can also promise you ... bleach your hair and home and you will do more damage then you do good then you will have to pay more money to have it corrected than you would to have it bleached in the first place

To be honest its quite a job but if you are going to do it you should first bleach the gold orange bits until it looks similar to the ends with 6 percent peroxide. After you have done this and washed off apply the bleach to the dark roots with 9 percent bleach. Bleaching close to the root takes a shorter time due to the heat coming from your head. After using this type of product a very good moisturising treatment 2 times a week for a month will help put moisture back into your hair.

It depends on the hair type and condition.
If in doubt go to hairdresser. If you mess it up you'll spend lots buying more boxes of dye to fix it.

From what you say, I think i've been in a similar situation with my hair lots of times.
I have rebleached my hair quite a few times and it wrecks your hair. But if you still want to go ahead,
Be careful if you do it not to 'burn' your scalp.

Highlights are good as generally they dont touch roots and give a more subtle look than full on blonde. I use a cap.

As for what to use, I think a less strong bleach is best.
There should be bleaching kits. Make sure you do strand test and read all instructions.

Have a look in your local chemist and if in doubt ask an assistant.
Good luck!

NOT a good idea, to bleach it to begin with is damaging your hair, to bleach it on top bleach is lunacy, everytime you bleach your hair you are burning out the roots untill eventually your hair becomes, thin, patchy, and falls out, my sister has bleached her hair blonde for awhile now(even though she had perfectly nice natural brown coloured hair) and she won't stop but her hair has really deteriated in quality, it is now frizzy and she has bald patches on her head and the hairdresser keeps cutting it shorter and shorter to try and make it look thicker, my aunt bleached her hair and ended up going bald, if you have good hair to begin with, its never worth bleaching it and losing your hair over, I know when people are younger they think "it will never happen to them" we've all been there, its tempting, but believe me don't be so sure and take care of your hair while you have some, some people would love to swap places with someone who has hair if they have a condition where they don't grow hair of their own, I say don't risk it but its up to you at the end of the day!

Well I did, It damages it quite a bit. My hair is naturally blonde and gets really blonde in the summer. The roots were growing out and they were mousy and dark. I decided just to color the roots and they turned out red/orange. The next day I used a cap and did highlights, there is still some red/orange. Just make sure you condition condition condition. I've slept in conditioner a few nights since, it's been 3 weeks. Put straight conditioner on dry hair and comb through.

I have personally done what you want to do now. Don't do it. Actually dont bleach your hair even. That destroyes your hair. I had to cut off all the hair that I kept bleaching and had to stop dying my hair for a long time to try to save my hair. The more you bleach ur hair the better chance of it all falling out. It is not just something people say to scare you.

i,ve been doing hair for 24 years and always have done bleach on bleach, i,ve never had any problems or comeback from anyone, you could do with a base colour with brown in, then have highlights on top, just a suggestion if you want to go over the old bleach, i,d have it done at the hairdressers if you are not sure, they will advise you.

tbh. youd be better off going to a hairdressers and asking them for advice. Doing it could damage your hair, but doing it yourself could damage it even more so!! ;)

Frying basically means damaging the hair, resulting in it becoming very strawlike (not nice) and it is extremely difficult to resolve (cutting it all off is the obvious solution!) :(
And it can happen when you bleach it too much...

Fry would mean to kill. You can tell when it's fried becaus it's frizzy, nasty, not cute. You should get it done professionally so you don't screw it up because bleaching to the right shade is real tricky. Especially if you have roots.
