My son is 12 and has the same problem. My son does not have an epipen. We are cautious about everything. He knows to not eat anything that he doesn't know what it is or what is in it. Even some french fries are made with peanut oil at some restaurants so we always ask. One time, a teacher, when he was about ten,was giving them skittles, and had switched to Reeses pieces, which my son didn't recognize until he ate one, the teacher told them after the fact, and he threw up and turned into a red scaly looking lizard. Luckily it was just one. I gave him Benadryl allergy which seemed to help (the capsule) and he wanted a bath. Then he rested and I sat with him to make sure he was going to be okay. He was. I always put in his school papers about his allergies and hope that they'll do what is best. Your main thing is to just pack his lunch for him everyday for him to eat, and if a child does get peanut butter on him have him go wash right away. It is a stressful situation for us too.

My husband and that i conflict in this. i in my view think of that's a very courteous ingredient whilst the college has a no-nut rule whilst lots of the scholars, or maybe one, has a bad hypersensitive reaction. our babies attend this sort of college. My husband thinks that's thoroughly unfair and that if a infant has this sort of severe hypersensitive reaction, they might desire to be homeschooled. He says this because of the fact that's hard to enforce this sort of rule. in spite of everything, my infant ought to consume nuts along with his breakfast and not wash up appropriate and then get to college and walk by using the allergic infant and then there's a situation. in case you had a infant with such an hypersensitive reaction, what could you want to ensue? Kernow female: genuinely in the U. S., a peanut butter and jam sandwich is a quite straight forward lunch staple, that's why my husband is aggravated with the college's no-nut coverage. My son has to take different varieties of nutrition with him to lunch that are greater costly than a low priced pb&j could be, that's what I many times feed my non-college babies right here at homestead.

Yes, I used to know a kid whose nickname was Gram. I don't know what his real name was, but he was allergic to peanuts. All the other kids were eating donuts & he couldn't have any because they had peanuts in them. Poor kid, a life deprived of dounuts. :(
