Put Olive Oil in the hair, let it sit for a bit, like ten minutes, this will bring the nits and bugs to the surface, then use the nit comes, the metal ones to come them out. Use both the small one and the big one. The big one gets bugs the little one nits. Keep going through the hair until all of them are gone. The bugs come out easier and we found when our son got them that the chemical would not work, so someone told us about Olive Oil. It worked like a charm. Do everyone in the house and then everyday for the next seven days use the combs to check everyones head. Vacuum all carpet, put stuffed animals in a very hot dryer for twenty minutes, vacuum beds with attachments and repeat vacuumming for several days as well. This is tedious, but it does a better job then the chemicals. I promise, I had to a house of seven people and we all ended up with lice before it was over with, but we did get rid of them with this tedious process. We had first used the chemicals and we could not get rid of them. So give it a whirl and good luck Sorry this has happened to you, it is a pain I know.

I had the same problem when my daughter was aged 8 - try using tee tree shampoo and also Asda sells a pump spray that stops the lice from going on to your childs hair - its not 100% but it does work to a certain extent - i also used malt vinegar on my daughters hair, i didnt wash her hair i just soaked it in the vinegar and left it on over night then combed her hair with a nit comb and was amazed at the results - more nits and lice came out of her hair using the vinegar than came out when i used the lotions

I tried the nit treatments with my daughter and the nits came back again, then we tried combing conditioner through her hair with a nit comb but we still couldn't get rid of them. I looked on the Internet for a natural way to get rid of nits and it worked great. I bought a big jar of mayonnaise and before my daughter went to bed covered her hair with it then wrapped her hair in glade wrap and put a shower cap over top and she slept like that. In the morning you rinse hair and wash normally and comb with a nit comb. It is not very comfortable but at lest you don't have to put chemicals on your child's head and it works. Use a lot of mayonnaise. I'm not sure how it works i think it smothers the nits and then when you rinse in the morning they can not grip to the mayonnaise but we tried a few things before this and i didn't think we would ever get rid of them, we did this once and they were gone. I think you do need to leave it on overnight though. Hairspray is suppose to help keep nits away they don't like it so spray some on your child's head everyday and keep hair tied back.

Don't use nit lotion every week its a pesticide and is bad for them ... also the nits become resistant to whatever u use.... the best method every is the wet combing method ... conditioner on wet hair and comb it thro EVERY DAY ... the lice have a limited life cycle and this is the only sure fire way to get rid of them and keep them at bay !

the finest element to do is soak the dry hair in worry-free conditioner leave it for some hours (the longer the better effective and also positioned plenty on) then with a superb toothed comb, or ideally a nit comb, comb the hair by skill of. as you drag the conditioner by skill of the hair it is going to pull out any nits that are contained in the hair..........it takes extremely a lengthy time period and is slightly messy yet in case you do it contained in the lavatory and save operating the comb less than the nice and cozy tap that is way less stressful. once it really is finished flow by skill of the hair for any eggs that were left in the back of. Do it again some days later incase you've neglected any. continuously condition the hair after each and each wash as nits discover it difficult to carry close on to conditioned hair.

Continue your treatments. This may be keeping the little buggers at bay in your home. Keep the kids out of school for a week because if you are not getting them yourself, they probably come from the school. Let the school nurse know as well, many more students could be affected and need treatments. This is a health problem that needs to be addressed and the school may need to be closed to prevent the spread of lice if it is bad enough.

You have to wash all the bedding when you do that. Do the nix get rid of their hair brush & start with a new one. Wash hats coats etc. Wash the entire laundry air things out in the room.
Mayonaise works too. They need to be smothered so that's no fun leaving that on. You have to make sure you get the eggs off the root of the hair. Daycare should be storing cots apart & cleaning out their cubbies & allowing their coats to be stored apart. Older their shouldn't be a problem as long as their not sharing stuff. Or their coats all stored in together.

My friends kids were always getting them, lotions didn't work and the only way she could get rid of them was with the conditioner and comb method to rid them of every egg. She uses tea tree shampoo on her children's hair now they are clear and they haven't had them since.
