ok i kinda wanna get a tattoo of a tree with like no leaves, the branches wrapping around my arm and stuff.

i just think it looks cool, there really isnt any meaning behind it.. i would get the celtic tree of life because that has meaning that im into, but im not irish.

why do some people get tattoos of trees? would it be alright to get if it just looked cool?

Why don't you specifically look for an image of a particular tree? Perhaps research trees just generally, in a normal info website they should give you a rundown of what types of trees are out there and a small picture to go along with it. Once you find what type of tree you really like, do an image search on google, find the best and clearest looking image and take it into your tattoo guy and they will be able to draw up and personalise your tattoo based on that image!

I have tattoos I got just because I thought they were beautiful and guess what, I still think they are beautiful. If you think it may bother you someday that it had no meaning then make a meaning for it. hink of somethig that is important to you or something going on in your life and incorporate it. I had a tattoo of a ship done on my side and it was a cross between different types that I thought were pretty I then had my sons name put on the side as the name and had my initial on the top flag. Have your fav color put into it or just get it the way it is because if it makes you feel a certain way when you look at it thats all you need! Good Luck and if you get it and someone asks what the meaning is tell them thats not why you got. Anyone who doesn't accept that can go eat a you know what.

it's okay to get a tattoo of something just because you like the way it looks but those tattoos are usually the ones that people don't like as much later in life. to me tattoos represent age and wisdom. there is a great tattoo artist named nick baxter that has done a few trees that are completely awesome. you should check him out.

You should only get a tattoo if it means something to you, you might regret it later if it doesn't. Some people get tattoos of trees to symbolize roots-family or friends, life-rejuvinating its leaves every year and the renual of the soul sort of coincide, etc.

Some girl I knew got the hippy tree of life that her parents had a picture of, she got it to show her growth as a person or some crazy crap like that. It was a poorly done tattoo and I was ashamed for her.

Some people just like how they look, to some people a tree, with or without leaves has a personal or metaphorical meaning.

If you like it, get it. Don't worry about what other people say about it.

im thinking of getting a tattoo myself so i understand your situation. but you should never get a tattoo because it looks cool. 30 years down the road when your wrinkley and old its not gunna look as cool. tattoos should always have some meaning to it.
