ok, well i have windows vista, :] but i ran the windows vista upgrade advisor and it said i need to upgrade my video card and i dont want to cuz i had the windows vista transformation pack running on the same pc and the "transparent" look looked great! it did not run slow or anything. in fact i was watching a video[wmp11] under another window. and i was running windows live messenger and it ran great, windows vista does almost the ssame. i dont get it. =/ *another question* even tho ur comp cant run "aero" is there a option to run it? [[at the users risk]]

No.

If Windows Vista determines your video card can not run the Aero interface, there is nothing you can do except to upgrade your video card. Seriously.

Only way is via a 3rd party program I believe.

Main reason for it not working now is DirectX 1 is final in Vista and does not support Direct X 9 or lower.

Therefore a DirectX 10 card is needed for it to fully work.

Good luck w/ Vista. I heard it sucks. You should never buy an OS until it has been on the market for a while and they have time to fix the kinks in the system.
