Is it Late 1800's then it's Victorian.
Check your local library on antiq. furniture.
Go uner "yahoo images" and type in antiq. chairs or furniture.
Also stop by an antiq. shop as well.

call a professional anitque furniture auctioneer or appraiser. It is worth it to find a good one because some furniture has collector value like you would not believe but you would never know it just by looking at the furniture.
