Instead of washing it at night, try washing it in the morning and blowdrying it. If you flip your head over and blowdry it upside down, it will automatically give your hair a lift. Then, after you straighten it (if you still need to), lift it with a comb and spray little bursts of hair spray at the roots, underneath the piece you are lifting up. Then use your fingers to massage your hair/head right where you sprayed it. If you kind of push the hair up right at the root where you put the hairspray, it will make the hair stay lifted more. Also, you can use the blowdryer on a low setting to dry the hairspray at the roots. If you do this too much, you will have really BIG hair, so use it in moderation. Have fun!

Stop going to bed with wet hair for one thing. If you shower at night, do it two hours before you go to bed or at least an hour before. After you shampoo, follow up with a really good hair conditioner. You'll know it's good because it makes your hair feel silky and smooth. Some people wear a night cap to bed but that's old school so I'll leave that up to you to decide. A blow dryer can really fluff up your hair too if that's what your looking for. Just don't have the setting too hot. Use a fine brush to fluff it up while drying. If you get static after blow drying, stop using it and use a towel to dry your hair. Make sure you brush it before going to bed. This will prevent knots. Don't worry, you can just brush it again in the morning. One hundred strokes. Fifty if your in a hurry.

The correct haircut will do wonders for your hair. Do a little research and find yourself a good hairdresser. Sure, they cost a little more but they are usually worth every penny. I actually hate fixing my hair but it always looks nice because of the good cut. I usually wash and wear. Once you find a GOOD hairdresser, stick with him!!!

I have hair just like yours and I've been trying FOREVER to get more volume! But I just recently found the GREATEST THING EVER. Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner for volume! You can buy it the the grocery store. (the volume one is yellow-colored). They also sell Sunsilk volumizing cream (again, yellow)
