eightiesc, you just about got it. God has communicated with humanity in all ages on a level they could relate to.Paganism, different Gods and godesses, burning bushes, scriptures, visions Etc. As each age passes the next has in its being all the experiences and knowledge of the past. that is why we are not still pagans. Thanks to all the saints that have gone before we have and easy path to follow to experience unity with God in unconditional love within our hearts. As the colors of the rainbow are contained within sunlight, so to are all things contained within the light of Gods unconditional love. "God dwell within you as you". All things are but the one God, called my many names.

In Monotheism which is the belief in one God we all worship the same one. Christianity and Judaism both have the same God which is God of Abraham. In Islam they call their God Allah which is another name for Father. Remember Jesus always mentioned this when talking about God since he was the son of God.
Now in Dualtheism or the belief in many gods such as Hinduism, Taoism, and Buddhism. All of these believe in one supreme God of the universe but have many other gods that rule other aspects of life. This would be the fact that the Supreme God is the True God of all religions. I believe that we all worship the same God and that our goals are all the same and that is to be with this one supreme God when we go into the afterlife.

As a Wiccan, I believe that all Gods are aspects of one God and all Goddesses are aspects of one Goddess, Who in turn are dual aspects of a single Source. (Not all Wiccans believe exactly as I do, BTW, by many do.) I also believe that all religions are different approaches to that same Source.
The idea that this single God/dess changes form to relate to us on an individual level is one that those Wiccans could certainly get behind.
Interesting question. :-)

You hit the nail right on the head, that's basically how I think things work, with regard to God. If there's no right "god" and we all believe in some manifestation of Divinity, then it makes sense that all the different names we're using for our various deities are, in fact, names of the same Supreme Being.

Nope, I strongly reject the idea that all Gods and Goddesses are one in the same. They are not. Each has their own personality and are distinct individuals. You cannot tell me that Odin is the same as Zeus, or that Zeus is the same as Jesus.
That being said, I do not believe there are any "false" Gods. I believe many exist, I just don't worship them all.

How about the fact that no one has a handle on who or what God is and everybody is wrong?

I think that you are right. There is one God but he has had as many names as there are cultures and languages.
