Through a baby sitter website, someone contacted me take care of a 1 year old boy. I had transportation problems so I rejected because of that, but the person gave me as a solution the option to bring the kid every day to my house and take care of him in my own place.
Now I´m wondering how much should I ask for my rates.
My schedule will be monday to friday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm

At least $5 an hour, that is an important job, caring for a child! Depends on their income, maybe you could ask for more, a word of advice - childproof your home!!

You should find out how much other people are paying for the same type of service. Also you might want to consider just talking through that with the parent. In California I can get anywhere from $400 to $600 a month and I am not even licensed. Most licensed day care providers in my area charge $600 or more a month. And they want to be paid weekly.

I will 'assume' that you are a legal adult, and that your home is 'baby safe' with a good 'play area' inside, and one 'close by' outside your home. Then you really 'should' get a LICENSE for DAY CARE from your state because you are working out of your own home, and not going to work where the child lives. I would ask for no less than $3 an hour, up to $6 an hour for 'one child' with no others in the house (including your own) ... for only eight hours a day. For the 11 hour day you have 'outlined' I would say that your hours in excess of that 8 hour day should be paid at 'time and a half' ... your base rate plus half for each hour past eight you 'babysit.'

I am also a childcare provider! I charge between $4-$5 for children that are not eating people food. Then I charge $5-$6 for children that are eating people food! I do this because I provide the food and so I mostly look at what is coming out of my own home!

Careful. People like to sue, even if they're at fault. Your place may not be 'baby-proof'.
Even social services has strict requirements for placing children into full custody of a parent; they do a full inspection of the place to make sure bars are secured onto windows, plugs on outlets, baby gates at top & bottom of stairs, cleaning fluids out of baby's reach, disposable razors out of trash can where baby can reach into, etc.
Also, check to make sure you don't need any special permits to do daycare at your place. You don't want her turning you in because she's pissed her kid got a boo-boo while in your care.
Have the baby's mother sign an agreement waiving her right to sue you if she's agreeing to let you care for her kid in your home. Have these papers notarized.

I live in AZ, my son is in school 2 days a week from about 7 until about 5:30pm I pay $30.50 a day for a 3 year old

Not sure were you live but here in minnesota we charge anywhere from 2.50- 4.00 an hour
You may set a rate of 60.00-80.00 a day or something like that. You may also whant to check places out around you to find competative rates.

Call some childcare places and see what they are charging in your area. I am not sure about your area but here people seem to charge around 35-40$ a day. (central cali)

It depends on the age of the sitter but i would pay 6 dollars!

about 150-200 a week thats asking a lot of you but go with your bills...then see how much you can afford if you were paid that amount
