Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. There is nothing we can do to bring about salvation nor cause God to save us. He chooses out who will be in His Church. Those who are saved had their names written in the lambs book of life since the foundation of the universe. There comes a time in the life of all those who are of the elect when they recognize there is a God, the God of the Bible, see their sinful condition and inability to do anything about it and their need for a savior. That is the work of the Holy Spirit.

repentence through Christ. Talk to the Lord and he will tell you what to do. That should always be your first step if you are ever in doubt. There are a lot of people that are nice and do good things for people, but if they dont have a strong relationship with God, then where are they in life? No place I'd want to be.

New Testament says that it is by the Grace of God through Faith.
It also says that Faith comes from God.
So its really up to God to give you faith enough to accept salvation. Unfortunately for agnostics like myself, or athiests that Faith hasn't been granted.
So my answer is neither. Its up to God who has already predestined/created those he wants to enter the Kingdom.

Through the death of Jesus Christ we are allowed admittance to heaven. You can't "buy" your way into heaven with good deeds. However it should be said that if you are trying to live a Christian life... the good deeds and kind acts are part of a spiritual life.

I believe that you definitly need the good deeds and acts of kindness.. I do not believe that you MUST believe in Christ to get to heaven.. I dont believe it hurts either.. but if your were not kind and thoughtful on earth to your fellow man and your planet but CLAIMED to have faith in Christ.. its almost hippocritical.. I believe you can do ONE but you cannot claim to be one without doing the other..

The latter of course Isaiah 64:6 "All our good deeds are as filthy rags...." So there have to be some other way besides my good deeds and kind acts.

The way to the Father is through The Son.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
