My daughter just lost her first one and the new one was already coming in behing the baby tooth. It was a week and a half ago and her new one is slowly moving into place.
My sisters did that, she had to have her baby teeth pulled out because she had two rows of teeth for a while. Her teeth are perfectly straight without braces. I am 32 yrs old and have braces now because my teeth aren't straight. My teeth came in right where the baby ones fell out.
It just depends on how much room there is when they are all in if they will be crooked or not.
Hope that helps.

Sometimes they come in where the other fell out but as others have said, sometimes they don't. My daughters baby teeth didn't come out on their own so the permanent ones would come up behind the baby teeth. We had to have the dentist pull their teeth ahead of time so the permanent teeth would move into the spot or come up to the spot where the baby tooth was. The ones that were behind moved into the correct place after making room for them.

My son has had some permanent teeth to grow in exactly the same spot. However, he has had a few to grow in behind his baby teeth. Some even before they fall out. His did straighten up on their own.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't... and when they don't, the kid will need braces. Luckily for me, my teeth are straight, so I won't need braces.
I just turned 14, and I still have a baby tooth waiting to fall out... weird

They should come in at the same spot. If not maybe you should see a dentist.
