You didn't state what color you used or what color your hair was originally, so I'll have to make some guesses as to what you did and why it went wrong. More than likely, your hair was much lighter than you had thought it was and the that is why the end color was darker than you expected it to be. The other option is that you left it on too long. To repair it, I suggest you go to a Sally Beauty Supply (because they sell to the public) and get a bottle of Metalex. It is a color remover. You will need to follow the directions exactly. Then apply some intensive conditioners 3 times in the next week to get the hair back to a somewhat "normal" condition. If you choose to recolor your hair, I suggest you choose a LIGHT brown or dark blond to get the desired results. Since your hair will be more vulnerable to the color I suggest you leave it on for only half the time the color states. Be sure to recondition after the color and you should be fine.

U can either wait for it to fade on its own, a couple weeks of washing everyday with crappy shampoo will work. or use a mixture of head and shoulders shampoo and johnsons baby shampoo (equal amounts) apply to dry hair, put a plastic bag over hair, blow dry for half hour.... This will take the color out a few shades. and you may either like the color, or choose to put on a new color. But it will be way easier and less risky to put a lighter color on if u do this first. Another way to fade the color fast is use a bleach cocktail. Mix equal parts of hair bleach powder (not developer!) and water, and put it in your hair, leave it in for 10 minutes and then rinse out. but bleach is scary if you dont know how to use it.

never bleach you hair unless professionaly done, Bleach and hair dye damages hair and it takes awhile for it to recover. I would say wait about a week or so then just use a light brown and dye your hair again. Should work good luck!

I'm not completely positive, so I don't want to tell you my opinion and then have you totally mess up your hair because of me, so when you go into the salon to get it dyed, ask the person who's doing your hair if they need to bleach it for you first or not. I hope your hair turns out great!

I would wait a couple of weeks before you dye your hair again. I would dye it 2 shades lighter.

Wash with baby shampoo, it'll get the extra dye off, then try dark blond.

wait a while before you re-dye it to prevent damaging your hair. and when you redo it, pick a colour lighter than what you want cause super dark brown is hard to get colour over. my lessons learnt HAHA

PLEASE, NO DO NOT BLEACH IT! that would be bad! trust me on this...i've done it all to my hair. i know it's really dark right now but i PROMISE, it WILL lighten. i just went very dark from blond...it was a shock to me too but after about a week..i loved it! so, please, give it at least a week, two would be better...but if you still hate it, only go 2 or 3 shades lighter.

Use a cheaper shampoo (Pantene, Suave, etc.) and wash your hair. They have more detergents in them than higher quality salon products and will help lighten the color.
