Other than their last statements before death, the life of Jesus and Mohammed are completely different. Jesus told his followers to love one another, to forgive and not take vengeance and led by example. Mohammed taught his followers that rape, slavery, lying, genocide and vengeance for the sake of Allah were of the highest esteem, even calling heaven a brothel in the sky. Mohammed's life was plagued with visions from Satan who used him to establish his kingdom on earth (the kingdom of the beast), which the antichrist and false prophet will rise from. This kingdom has waged war against the saints since it's beginning and continues to do so to this day. @NewlyBorn: How about Josephus and Pliny the younger? There are countless other sources outside of the NT that provide us with historical evidence for the existence of Jesus. You sure you were ever a pastor of any sort, or is this just another one of your lies?

The similarities are that both of Jesus and Muhammad came from the same descending line of people. Both of them have the same forefather in Abraham. The son Ishmael which was Abraham's son from his servant is the direct line to Muhammad and Abraham's oldest son. The son Isaac was Abraham's wife's son Sarah. This is the direct line to Jesus. From there both of them are related.

The other similarity is that both of them are the chief prophet of a religious movement. Muhammad being the movement of Islam and Jesus being the Christianity movement. This is about the only similarities between the two people.

The differences are the following. Jesus came in peace to save the world from eternal damnation according to the Bible. Muhammad is The prophet of Islam in that he gave them the Qu'ran and a way of life. Muhammad saw Jesus as a prophet but not the best prophet. Muhammad also sought revenge on the people who disobeyed him and those that threw him out of their towns thus giving him a warrior phase. Thus the differences.

Jesus is God, Muhammad was not.
Jesus taught peace, mercy, and forgiveness... Muhammad did not.
Jesus ordered s to minister unto everyone, and spread the good news that He is come to save everyone from death... Muhammad said to behead those who dont believe.

Jesus said that He is the only way to the Father... Muhammad said the only way to really know you are worthy is through martydom.

Jesus said to judge a prophet by all the others, and check for harmony... Muhammad said that all the other text are corrupt except what I say.

Jesus died and rose again for all of the sins of the world ever committed and will ever be committed. Muhammad died, never to rise again for being a false prophet.

Jesus' grave is empty, as He was ressurected under the Power of God.

50I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."[g]
55"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"[h] 56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

[2:285] The apostle believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. each one (of them) believeth in God, his angels, his books, and his apostles. we make no distinction (they say) between one and another of his apostle s. and they say: we hear, and we obey: (we seek) thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to thee is the end of all journeys.

[3:84] Say: we believe in God, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham. Ismail; Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes, and in (the books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their lord: we make no distinction between on and another among them, and to God do we bow our will (in Islam).
