Yes, I took Wellbutrin XL for a period of 6 weeks when I finally made up my mind to quit smoking. The Wellbutrin helped a great deal with the psychological associations and addictions while I was going through nicotine withdrawl.
I also read the included pamphelet from front to back and became concerned about seizures. No, I never did have a seizure. Yes I was concerned about it a lot. I stopped the Wellbutrin as soon as I got to the 6 week point because I was doing better with the withdrawl and I did not want to be on a drug that seems to have some evidence of inducing seizures.
If you are very concerned, I would strongly recommend talking with your doctor and try to find a different medication that will work for your needs. The seizures are a huge worry factor and might even lead to anxiety attacks.

I haven't taken them together but I am on Lexapro and have never had a seizure. Valium is actually used to stop seizures and no where in the Physician's Desk Reference does it say it can not be used with antidepressants nor does it say it can CAUSE seizures. It is used to treat them. I don't think you should have a problem. Contact your pharmacist or MD and confirm with them. I'm sure they would have not given the medication if they thought there was as true risk of seizure.
Some pts who have seizures experience a "aura" a sudden odd smell or bright lights.

I've been taking Wellbutrin for several years now with no seizures. The more meds you take with that as a possiblity, the higher your chances are of having one. But there's a good chance you'll never have one, especially if it's never happened before.
As for the warnings on drug labels, the companies have to put them on there if even one person has had that sideaffect. It's a liability issue. I've seen meds that have a possible sideaffect of death.
It's a very good idea to read the info from the pharmacy. I always read it carefully when taking something for the first time. But I wouldn't worry too much about it, you don't want to get an ulcer from worrying, then you'd have another med to take.... :)

I have only had an anaphylactic seizure, so I don't know if its the same. My experience was sudden tunneling of my vision, dizziness, ringing in my ears, and then the world shifted sideways. It all happened within the span of probably less than 20 seconds.
As for the drugs, if you've taken the combo before without incident, you're probably safe. However, you should definitely contact your doctor. Be aware however, that the pharmacy companies are required to print that stuff to avoid liability issues in the event that someone MIGHT have a seizure, whether or not its related to the drugs.

The use of Wellbutrin is discouraged for people who have had seizures or eating disorders. I took Wellbutrin for seasonal affective disorder. I had a mild seizure and promptly stopped taking the medication. My doctor prescribed something that is less likely to cause seizures, Zoloft.

You are obviously concerned about this I would suggest talking to your pharmacist about it and if need be ask your doc (as they know your family history etc.). It may only be mentioned in the drug info because it could increase the amount of seizures you are having if you already have had seizures.... Just an idea. Don't hesitate to call a pharmacist if you are worried about it, it could really ease your mind. Good luck!

I was on wellbutrin and it didn't give me seizures but it made me crazy. I was suicidal and even a little homicidal. I wouldn't take that stuff ever again.
