Because people are selfish. They want to have sex without thinking of the consequences, and then when they have to deal with the consequences, they choose the path that has the least amount of work and dedication on their part.

It is murder, yet if you have ever hated another person God considers that murder. Yet all of us can receive salvation for our evil deeds, if we truly regret them, repent, and follow Jesus.

37 answers, by the time I am done 45, maybe even 50. Good luck with it, you will be knocked, and spat at, and maybe even cussed at alittle, I would go through and rank every single person on here, if I had the time, but I don't. Abortion is murder....you don't believe me? Have you ever heard of an ooops abortion? No, well let me explain, that is where they try and literally CUT the baby's throat as it is exiting the womb...because the mother at the last minute decides she no longer wants it, but is not willing to put it up for adoption...now here is where the "oops" part comes in. An oops abortion is where while cutting the baby's throat, the doctor actually miss's, or doesn't have time to do it correctly, and the baby actually exits the womb and lives. Now, since Bush passed the "no portical birth abortion" then the doctor is stuck with this new born baby....now what most people don't know, is that the baby usually does die, because the dork did manage to partically kill the child. Now, go ahead with your little thumbs down, all you "would be" mother's, but for the record...as heartless as an oops abortion sounds, is just as heartless as you are everytime one of you kills the "fetus" inside of you...which you no longer want, but you were stupid enough to conceve.
God help the people in this world that say oops abortions are fine, and that taking a HUMAN life, is parmisible.
Thanks for asking, keep your chin up, and your aim high....And don't let want any of these people on here say get to you, they are trying to make their own selves feel better, for the life they took, and the fate they sealed with four small words. "I Want an Abortion" kills a baby everytime.

Because women who control their reproductive system are able to control their financial destinies directly and can therefore rise up out of poverty (think 3rd World Country). Unwanted pregnancies, those usually aborted, tend to be from young, poor, uneducated women. These children, if born, are statistically MUCH more likely to be criminals, burdens to the state and to have MORE unwanted babies if a safe, inexpensive abortion isn't available. Therefore, whether we like it or not, in the present USA, safe and cheap abortions have been shown to substantially lower crime rates. Scary, huh? This is sad but true. This does NOT however, mean that there aren't other solutions. How about better education, sex-education, and first-class social services??? Furthermore, only some religions accept the concept that life starts at conception. Sikhism believes that harming any life is a sin, but doesn't necessarily accept that life starts until "quickening" or when the animal moves actively in the womb. So sin or murder in one religion doesn't necessarily mean that in another. Good Luck!

I believe that it is not my place to decide, just as it is not my place to decide whether somebody who wants to commit suicide should do so or not, use drugs or not etc. My personal preference has no bearing on their situation, as much as I might like it to.

As to abortion in particular. Keep in mind that that baby is a part of the mother's body. She carries it, goes through all the trauma of pregnancy, bonds emotionally. I don't think abortion is ever an easy decision, but when it is made, who are the rest of us to judge that decision? There are circumstances where abortion really is the only option. I mean, what kind of a society brings an unwanted child into a world that already has two thirds of the population living in poverty, has millions of children on the streets, etc. It's not an easy decision to make, but it's easy to sit in judgement when you're not the one who has to live with the consequences either way.

I can't definitively say why people believe in abortion, only that many consider the fetus as no more than a mass of cells and not living. Since it's not living, the reasoning goes, then it's not any different than having a mole or something similar surgically removed.

My own position is that life begins at conception; I also am the mother of a mentally challenged 31-year-old. Had I known during my pregnancy that he'd have problems and aborted him, I would have deprived myself of knowing a very gentle and loving individual who seems to regard it as his special mission in life to bring people up by consistently saying very positive things about them whenever he's in their company.

Abortion is legal in the United States. That means that one does not achieve the status of being a living human being until birth (legally).

Consider the legal nightmare if the courts deemed life began at conception. Every mother would have to be monitored to ensure she is doing nothing to endanger her unborn child. She could be arrested for smoking or drinking alcohol or subjecting her body to anything that could harm the fetus from skydiving to simply jumping up and down. There would be a murder investigation with every miscarriage and stillbirth. It goes on and on. Our judicial system is simply not set up to handle human rights at conception.

Because sometimes, the baby being born isn't the best of things.

If my mother had give birth to a baby she got prgnant with, that baby would have been born into an unhealthy, broken, almost abusive home.

What about women who were raped and got pregnant? They shouldn't have to deal with the baby if they never even had that choice. What if that rape victim was a teenager? they might die if they continue with the pregnancy.

How can something die if it was never born?

Yes, that thing might one day become a baby. Well, teh eggs you eat might have one day been a chick! Isn't that pretty much the same thing?

Sometimes, a baby will bring joy to this world. Other times, it will add problems to people who already have enough on their plate, and the baby may be made to suffer.

Abortion is the mother's choice. And if that baby won't bring enough joy to pull one through the problems, then they should take that choice.

It's not a belief, it's a choice and a right we as Americans have. Like so many posters before have said, you have no business judging others for something you know nothing about.
If you want to call it murder that's fine, but that's not how everyone feels about it and who are you to tell people what to think or what to believe?
Pollution is murdering our environment, animals are not living due to oil spills, why don't you ask if not recycling is murder, and bash those people.
I'm sooo tired of this topic and people feeling the need to impose their beliefs on everyone else!! GEESH!

Because people think too much nowadays. People begin to think like......" well, I guess it would be understandable if the baby will be born with severe physical deformities" or " I guess it's okay if the parents just aren't ready for parenthood yet" or " The mother can't afford another child, it's understandable"or" It's technically not a baby until it leaves the womb". I want to know what happened to people using common sense? People need to stop thinking so much and use common sense- it is murder. How can people possibly beleive that theres a difference between a mother killing her newborn, and a mother killing her unborn child. It's the same thing. I don't understand how people can't see that. Freedom of choice is beginning to get scary. My 4 year old stepdaughter was almost aborted by her mother, but her father(who is now my husband) intervened. No, it wasn't a convenience. Did my husband want another child? No. Did we want to pay $400 a month on child support for a little girl we never got to see? No. But we did it. No child is a burden. It's a life. We now have the little girl in our custody because her mother abandoned her, and she has been a blessing from the beginning to us. She has taught me things about love and acceptance that I never even knew I needed to work on with myself. She has made a posotive difference in my life as well as my whole family's.And someday she's going to grow up and get married and be a wonderful mother to her own children, and make a difference in the lives of her family as well. How can any child be a burden? If you don't want a baby, don't have sex, or at least protect yourself, they have wonderful technology out there that can make it near impossible to get pregnant. But if you do get pregnant, take some responsibility for your actions. If you don't want the baby, at least give it to someone who desperately does want that blessing in their lives. My husband and I have the amount of kids we want at the moment( we have 5 ) ,but we may want more in the future. It cost me only $25 to have an IUD implanted in me- most health insurances will pay the rest like mine did. That's birth control for 5 years. Have sex responsibly, or take responsibility for your own actions.

I personally don't believe in abortion and would never have one; however, I believe that a woman has the right to make that decision without being ridiculed or harassed. Who am I to make that decision for someone else?

well what if your mom or your sister was raped and got pregnant from it would you then believe in abortion,
what if your mom was pregnant and the doctor said "if you have this baby you will die the baby might live but you will definitely die"
would you then believe in abortion.
Think of all the circumstances it might be needed or wanted then put your mom or sister in the situation or if you are a girl but yourself there.
When it really comes down to it this is a personal matter and you nor any one else should have anything to say about it, it is not your business and no one in that situation is looking for your opinion or your approval.
