That only happens on the teeth with the silvery colored fillings, they are actually not recomended anymore, as they contain mercury, which can seep into your blood streem and cause other problems. Anyway, I'm not sure as to a scientific explanation, but I do know the pain is unbearable.. and also, you can have them removed and have the white ones put in. Good Luck with your answers :) Its somewhat comparable to sticking your tongue on the end of a nine volt battery.. its some sort of reaction..

LOL, that is funny! I wonder, did someone put you up to biting foil telling you that it would hurt? And when It did, you wanted to find out why? I think it is cute, however, biting foil on a regular basis may not be the best ides. :) This happens because you probably have a filling in your mouth that is metal or a crown etc...the foil causes an elrectric shock when the metals and saliva mix. So, if you have silver fillings or metal in your mouth, that is what is happening. Take care and happy experimenting.

It's called "galvanic shock". It's a little electrical current or shock that happens when two unlike metals in the mouth touch. Your saliva contains salt which makes it a good conductor. Plus the two metals act like a battery, then the electrical current passes through the saliva between the two metal objects (i.e. your filling and a fork or foil). The shock travels through the filling into the nerve of the tooth and causes you pain. I hope this answers your question. =)

because you are creating an electric current in your mouth like a battery. you have to have fillings in your teeth the fillings and aluminum are two metals add saliva which is a weak acid and put under pressure(bite down) and current is produced which is transferred into the nerves in your teeth and walla, you have pain

it seems even more strange to me about why you would have it in your mouth, if it cuts you you run a high risk of getting some kind of disease in your mouth

Because Al Gore invented it to be used as hats to block the radar waves for him and his followers. They are being tracked and global warming also affects hair growth. So what are you doing putting high tech material in your mouth.
Other then that I don't know.
