Dear Matthew,
It was mankind that sinned and separated himself from the Author of life. Therefore it is mankind that needs to hear God's Word in order to get back into a right relationship.
A few decades ago I used to think that IF I were God I would do this or do that. But my loving heavenly Father showed me that my way would cause more problems than it would fix. He didn't even scold me He just opened my eyes so that I could see. Now I know without a doubt that He has a wonderful plan and I can trust Him.
I've come to realize that if we could somehow gather up ALL of the wisdom of all people who have ever lived, are living and will live, we still couldn't even approach "the ballpark" of God's wisdom. I've also come to realize that my understanding usually comes after my obedience rather than the other way around.

That's a really good question. I don't know the answer for sure, and I doubt anyone does. It's hard to understand the wisdom of God. Before Jesus left earth, He said that we (believers) are to be His body. Jesus prayed to His Father God with the disciples before He left and this may give some insight to your question:
"Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world" (John 17:17-18)
Jesus' purpose was to show us the truth: to show us God. And now, that job is upon believers in Christ.
So, in answer to your question, there appears to be something about Christians loving each other and being in community together shows the world that God is real and that God is love. Now, you're right...it's a pretty busted up picture. And we are easily corrupted. But, if God simply showed up in our dreams as a child and revealed all things about himself, there would be no need for faith and there would be no purpose for humanity. Instead, the sharing of our faith with others is the purpose for our lives.
Does it make sense completely? Not to me. But, I trust that God knew what He was doing.
P.S. Another great verse is 1 John 4:12, which says, "No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." God had a plan to reveal himself through his creation, his people. Not because it was the most effective, but because that's what He wanted to do.

God did spread the word Himself in the begining, and then appoinged righeous men to keep what He said going. Then He insprited the Word of God which is the Holy Bible and through it, He is still spreading it Himself because those are His words. Praise the Lord!
I am in no position nor will I ever be able to second guess God in any of His decisions! He is and always be greater than i am. Praise the Lord!
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Mankind has to be good for something; otherwise why bother creating us if God was going to do everything himself?
The short answer is that God prefers to work through the humans that he created. That gives him an excuse to reward people for performing charity, for example, even though God could have just as easily provided food & clothing for the poor himself by performing some type of miracle instead.

God chose man to spread and handle his word because God said man cannot see him and live. Therefore his holy spirit was given to all of us and some dream and some hear his voice and his seed knows him and indeed it is a responsible decision to know the lord.

Because he knew animals were too smart to believe him. Because he knew man would build castes and fight with others proving other Gods wrong.
God knew man would create stories of good and evil to spread religions, make way for communal riots and frictions, make this planet a virtual hell. God knew only human beings could fool each other with their own different version of God. And then, he would not have had all this fun if he had chosen anyone else to 'spread his word' !

First of all the people who die with out the knowledge of God will be judged according to whatthey know.
God allows man to deliver the Gospel because He is looking for the obedient people. He says in His word, if you love me obey my commands. Part of His command is to spread the word of God. If you are one of those that pleased Him he will et you enter His kingdom. Would you allow someone in your house if you knew he was a criminal ?? Neither would God ... so start getting prepared while spreading the Gospel.

Romans 1:16-19 (approximately - forgive my memory if I'm off by a verse or two) makes it clear that all men know enough of the truth to respond.
What is sin is that, knowing right from wrong, man sins anyway.
No one is going to go to hell because they haven't heard the name 'Jesus'. They're going to go because having known the truth, they continued to sin.
I heard an account from a missionary to a muslim country. Two men there were having dreams of a book called the bible and a man who could teach them about it. What do you know, God sent a missionary and the men sought him out to learn about this book.
There are tons of accounts like that. When people respond to the truth God has given them, God makes a way for them to be saved by Jesus.

God wants us to love eachother and wanted us to have relationships. He created us with purpose. This is the work He has given us. The church which is people (not a building ) under Christ glorifies God when we do His will. The bible says “ How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” The good news of Jesus really is good news. You can be forgiven and have eternal life. Any one who wants it can have eternal life. God makes a way for people to know Him even without an evangelist even though there are people risking their lives in remote places this very second to tell people the good news. He writes His law in their hearts so they know what is right and wrong and God will judge them accordingly. God is fair and wants no one to perish. :)

God normally came to man through dreams or other kind of manifestations. what you were suggesting had been done already. And don't you worry. Maybe not in your time nor mine, He promised that to Isaiah long time ago. " A time will come when I shall be in the hearts and mind of everyone. No longer will it be that a brother will come to you and say, ' Know thy God' for I shall be known by everyone". That time will surely come. Just be thankful when you are still alive when it does.
