So... If you're an non believer, read on...

If the rapture did happen, and many of your saved family members and friends were gone...

And a short time later a man that won a great battle to rule the earth forced you to get the "mark of the beast" or die...

Would you die or get the mark?

And don't say, "that would never happen, because Christianity is false."

Just answer the question, even if it's hypothetical

Did u know in the bible it says that many will turn away from god during this time, and many who didnt believe will come to christ?

hypothetically if i saw the signs of the revelation, id die before i got the mark
------------------------------

I sure did. It's happening today. 90% of today's Athiests were raised "Christian".

I see glorious salvation through people I never suspected would come to Christ.

You're very wise in terms of Bible knowledge. Keep it up.

Oh, sorry:

The mark of the beast will be applied to your right hand or forehead, it's not specified whether it's a tattoo or microchip; many believe it's going to be a microchip implanted in people's skin.

No one will be able to own things, buy things, sell things, etc, without the mark, and essentially, wont be able to live.

The rapture was made up by a 17th century preacher, just for your info. Not all believers believe in it.
----------------------

Read revelations. That's the rapture. We will "meet the Lord in the air"

The 'rapture' is just a name for the end times' events.

Hypothetically speaking... I would die. I wouldn't allow someone to "mark" me in the sense that they would own me, which is basically how it is described in Revelation.

Even when I was a Christian I didn't believe in the Rapture. I find it odd that people use a word that means to feel great emotion to mean they're going to be taken in the air (though I believe it says "gathered in the clouds" and it's my understanding that is also a metaphor that they are gathered AS A Crowd, which had nothing to do with Air at all - this makes more sense to me than flying in the air)

It probably wouldn't be called the "mark of the beast" so people wouldn't agree if there was such a thing. There's actually people that are afraid of social security cards and national ID cards because they think it's the mark of the beast.

Your question implies that Christians believe in the rapture/antichrist/mark of the beast end times scenario but allow me to point out that only a small percantage of Christians buy into this stuff.

Well lets just say i was a christian for 17 years and I didnt hear about the rapture until AFTER I wasnt anymore.

However IF this were to happen who knows who will go. As far as i am aware not all people who say they are believers will be taken and some that wouldnt be counted by YOU will be taken. Who knows i might get taken then it wouldnt matter.

However there is another problem with this theory, once God has proved himself in this way (again supporsition) there would be a very small % who would not convert as if you knew what was going to happen (which as far as I am aware it has to be an informed choice) everyone would choose death as they would know what was going to happen and where they were going to go.

Well, I guess I'd take death; I mean, I'm not an atheist fundamentalist or anything. Since at that point (and no time before it) I would KNOW it was pretty much all true, I wouldn't irrationally continue to "stick to my guns" as if there was some still-greater reward for myself or others if I did so. Of course, that's not meant to lend any credence to Revelation -- I'd do the same thing in ANY apocalypse scenario, be it the return of Muhammad, Quetzalcoatl, or the Norse battle of Ragnarok.

As for the krill question above, I'm gonna have to go for those lip-smacking squid eggs.

Assuming (and this is a big assumption) that the rapture occurred and the "saved" are taken and I remain, and then also assuming that I am given this choice, I would assume that I would, by that time, figure there was a god and I'd better go ahead and die because I'd imagine life must be pretty terrible at that point anyway if I'm being given such a choice. Death does not scare me.

But that will never happen because Christianity is false ;o)

wait, so rapture came, all the dead have risen, my 'saved' family and friends have winked off, and I'm supposed to care about a dude with a microchip?

Dude, can I get some of the crack you are smoking?
Anyway, what does it matter at that point? I am boned anyway, right?

Is the 'bad man with the microchip' going to storm heaven? If yes, I'd probably take the damn chip.

Hehehe microchip. It's a miracle some of you manage to remember to breathe.

If the rapture did happen and I saw it with my own two eyes then I would die before I would get the mark without a doubt.

In the bible "the mark of the beast" was what is in your mind. It wasn't talking about a literal mark like a tattoo or mirco-chip. And "The Rapture" isn't even biblical.

That being said, if I bunch of people vanished off the face of the Earth I'd either think I was on a bad acid trip or that aliens had abducted them. (As those explanations are more plausible.)

I would get the mark so that I could continue to clandestinely fight against the oppressor.

But then again, I guess if the rapture actually happened, I could just sit around and wait for Jesus to take him out.

I can do more good here than dead.
