It is illegal, but you must remember, sometimes it takes time for the info to get back from the SS office to the employer that the number is false or used by someone else so they may not know yet that these are falsified numbers.

If you have concerns about illegal aliens using stolen/false SS numbers, call the INS and make a complaint.

It is illegal for ANY employer to hire ANYBODY working under false Social Security #s. You received some very good advice on who to contact. Ignore the people that are telling you to mind your own business. It is your business and every other American's business what illegal aliens are doing to our country!!!! If someone knows of illegal behavior, it is their duty as a patriotic American to report it. Especially on an issue as important as this. We have millions of illegal aliens in the U.S., and they are all working here illegally. Either using stolen or fake identity, or working under the table not paying any taxes at all. I guarantee you if the idiots that told you not report it had ever had their I.D. stolen they wouldn't be saying this. You notice the number of thumbs up to thumbs down they got too!!

The IRS has a criminal division to turn in tax cheats. This was designed to punish the rich swine and the IRS encourages this by rewarding you with money.

You can report yourself anonymously and to top it off, you get a 15% monetary compensation of whatever is recovered. Nothing sparks a Federal investigation like a case of missing Federal dollars.

Well Jose: If we are going under the false premise that
Mexicans were in America before us gringos-- Well then,
who are the citizens of Mexico--or do you want both?

I have greater seniority than all of you!!!! You can all pack your bags and go back to wherever you came from because I am a Native American and my people were here FIRST!!!
BYE BYE--nice knowing you , but only the indigenous peoples can live here now.

To Keisha: Of course it's illegal. Do what your conscience
dictates.

Just more unfair competition for entry level and temp positions for Americans. I just can't understand the people who get mad at you for asking. They are destroying our ability to live by cheating. It's not fair competition or just working. It's fraud and identitiy theft and unfair competition. The people who got mad must be rich or they're doing this themselves and take it personally. Either way, spoiled brats. I would have to agree with those who refered you to the Social Security Administration and ICE. Good luck. Don't let whiners deter you.

I would think the repeated use of the word illegal would point to the answer. Report it to the INS or the employment department.

Yes it is and the ones around where I live do it daily...

I would love to hear how to correct this and report them as I can't seem to get any cooperation out of law enforcement here.

It is illegal. You can try sending the info to ICE, that actually sounds like the kind of employer they are beginning to crack down on. Particularly if that employer has a record of social security 'mismatches' they may actually look into it.
